Former Bloomington Boy Secure* a BrideIn Louisiana.Last Wednesday at Roseland, La., was celebrated the marriage of Mr. J. W. 8treat and Miss Lucy E. Hummel, Rev. Wm. Mitchell officiating. TheRoseland Herald says:‘The brie e is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George C. H. Hummel, highly respected people, formerly residing in Davenport, Iowa—her father coming to Roseland several years ago—the mother and daughter joining him afterward. The bride is a general favorite,a prepossessing young lady, and is greatly endeared by a legion of friends for her loveliness of character.The groom came to Roseland from Bloomington, 111., two years ago, andis the only son of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Streat. He is well known here and for some time has been engaged in buying and shipping fruits and vegetables to the North, and has been very successful. In the present venture he is certainly to be congratulated in gaining such a prize. It was a pretty home wedding—one that will long be remembered by those present. The bridal pair left 011 the evening train for New Orleans, amid a shower of rice, thrown promiscuously by the happy throng assembled to bid them goodbye.
