Adkins Family Celebrates 50th AnniversaryThe children of Mr. and Mrs. James Fletcher Adkins of CoolSprings were hosts for a reception Sunday afternoon at Statesville Woman’s Club, honoring the couple on their Golden Wedding Anniversary.Guests were greeted at the door by Rev. Robert Myers of Lenoir, a son-in-law of the honored couple. Their granddaughter, Miss Debbie Lazenby, presided at the guest register.Receiving with Mr. and Mrs. Adkins were their three daughters and sons-in-law. They are: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Long of Portsmouth, Va., Rev. and Mrs. Robert Myers of Lenoir, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lazenby, Jr., of Statesville.Miss Theresa Stroud presided at the punch bowl during the first hour, alternating with Mrs. Wallace Foster later in the afternoon.Mrs. William Stroud and Mrs. William Cash, Mrs. Reid Tomlin, Mrs. Henry Guffy and Mrs. Wayne Stroud assisted at the table.The refreshment table was spread with a white linen cut-work doth and the tiered anniversary cake, iced in white and decorated with yellow roses, served as centerpiece.Gold and white cake squares,oqHotI nlito qvi/1 vtriwliUvirf (will
