FREDRICEARL PAXTONPhoto by Jack SchmitzDenise Wakeman, Fred Paxton wed in Asistencia chapelMarried Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Asistencia chapel were Denise Christine Wakerman and Fredric Earl Paxton in the presence of 100 invited guests.Denise is the daughter of Mrs. Jan Wakeman, 11210 Alabama street, and Fredric is the son of Mrs. Phyllis Johnson of Corona and Hale Paxton of Redlands.The bride’s wedding dress, designed in the tradition of the Old South, was of white nylon. With it she wore a wide-brimmed lace and tulle hat and her bouquet contained red roses with pink and white accent flowers.Alistair Wakeman, uncle of the bride, gave her in marriage.She was attended by Trina Wunschel, in yellow, also Southern style, whose flowers were yellow roses.Michael McKeever was best man and Richard Paxton of Mentone, Hale’s brother, and Ron King of Sunnymead ushered.Rev. John Foerster, pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran church, performed the ceremony after which guests went to a reception at 35589 Cornell street in Yucaipa where the newlyweds will live.Denise is a graduate of the Montclair,high school and Fred, a Redlands high school graduate, is employed by the Zapata Construction firm in Colton.
