WEDDINGSANDERSON ■ BE STL ANIJSt. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Brunkild, Manitoba was the scene scene of a lovely wedding on Saturday, May 16th when Sophie Polly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Bestland of The Pas, Manitoba formerly of Brunkild, became the bride of George Anderson Jr., only son of Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson of Pointe du Bois.The Rev. H. Pruess performed the ceremony and Evelyn Rein-sch was the organist and soloist and sang the “Wedding Prayer.” The Church was decorated with tapered candles, and satin bows marking the guests pewsGiven in marriage by her father, the bride looked charming in a full length gown of white lace over satin with full length lace lilypoint sleeves and featured a sweetheart neckline. Her shoulder length veil in three tiers was held in place with a rose of matching lace, and she carried a cascade bouquet of red and white roses.Judee Dashevsky, Gwen Mar-sch, Phyliss Stewart and Shurley Longstaffe with little Wendy Sonai Bestland, youngest sister of the bride as flowergirl, attended the bride. They wore matching street-length dresses of yellow lace and chiffon over taffeta. Their headdresses were matching whimsies held by a yellow rose and they carried cascade bouquets of shattered yellow carnations.Robert Stewart of Red Lake, cousin of the groom, attended as best man and ushers were Niell Campbell, Wayne Kaminsky and John Wosny.The mother of the bride chose a pink brocade suit with matching hat and accessories and wore a corsage of pink carnations. The grooms mother wore an ensemble of soft blue flowered dacron crepe with a plain blue coat lined in matching crepe, with blue accessories and wore a corsage of red carnations.The reception was held in the Brunkild Memorial Hall and the brides table was centered with a three tiered wedding cake. Receiving with the bridal couple were Mr. and Mrs. Bestland ami Mr. and Mrs. G. Anderson.Robert Stewart proposed a toast to the Queen followed by the toast to the bride, to which the groom suitably replied. Congratulations were read from Los Angeles, USA. and Inglis, Manitoba.In the evening over 450 guests came to the reception from the following places, The Pas, Carman, Brunkild, Domain, Sanford, Winnipeg, Cariowrie, Greenridge and Pointe du Bois.For her wedding trip to Minnesota toe bride wore pale green brocade, and the couple will be at home to their friends at 553 Maryland Street in Winnipeg.
