«*«SOCIETY.»»IMiss Lola Boar returned last eve-nine; from Roanoke. 111., where she attended the marriage of Miss Mattie Belsley, of Roanoke, to JohnOscar Reid, of Newton, Kan. Miss Belsley is well known in this city,having visited with Miss Bear on several occasions, and has a large circle of friends here. There were about seventv-flve relatives and friends at the wedding, twenty-five of whom were out-of-town guests. The marriage occurred on the 17th of June and Miss Bear has been visiting other friends in Roanoke sincethen. The young couple have departed on a bridal Jour of severalmonths through the east and will be at home to their friends after the Fourth of July in Roanoke.Thomas Knight, a well knownformer Muscatine boy, was united in | marriage to Miss Elsa Stoit, of RockIsland, at Chicago, last evening, according to word received by his relatives in this city. The bride is anative of Rock Island, having been born and reared at that place, and is one of the most popular young ladies of the tri-cities. Miss Stoit left her home several days ago for Chicago, where they were married at S o'clock last evening. Mr. Knightleft this city two years ago for Chicago, where he is employed as solicitor for a music establishment, but while in Muscatine was a machinistat the Barry Manufacturing plant. He is the son of Michael Knight, of 1210 Hershey avenue, and has a host of friends in Muscatine who will beglad to learn of his nuptial event.
