There were orchids everywhere as well as at the reception which followed at the Virginia Country Club.Miss Holmquist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Holmquist of 4218 Country Club Dr., became the bride of Richard Leon Cooling, son of Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth G. Cooling of Beacon Bay, Newport Beach, on Wednesday evening at 8 with Rev.William McCance officiating, before a guest company which filled‘the church to overflowing.ORIGINAL GOWNThe radiant stately bride entered cn the arm of her father. She was wearing a Cahill original of pearl white lustrous sal in with an Empire decolletage in-• set with pleated tulle and a pan-niered skirt flaring into a court train. With it she wore a tiered veil of illusion which cascaded from a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white cat-tleya and phalaenopsis orchids and stephanotis.She came down an aisle carpeted in mauve satin and garlanded with orchid satin streamers caught up at the pews with trailing clusters of Vanda orchids and magnolia foliage. At the candlelighted chancel mauve' Vanda orchids were combined with magnolia leaves.HER ENTOURAGEMembers of her entourage were in irridescent green tissue faille with Dior sleeves and houffant skirts. They wore matching shirred cloches and earned cascades of pink cym-biaiums. Mary Huntoon of Boston was maid of honor and the other attendants were Mrs. Taylor Holmquist, Mrs. John De-morce (nee Joan Harper), Ann De Freece and Joan raden of Glendale.Groomsmen included Robert Cooling, brother and best man, Taylor Holmquist. brother of the bride. William Moffilt, John Thackaberry, and Walter J. Hesnault Jr.The newlyweds received the warm felicitations of their friends at the Virginia Country Club where the bridal table was laid with pale orchid organza caught up with bouquels of pale green and lavender orchids and centered with * tiered cake topped and wreathed with white orchids.Assisting wore Mmrs. Thomas E. Noble, Clarence P. Christensen. A. C. Malone and Eugene Hancock as well as Mrs. William Moffat (nee Jane AnnAlying of Los Angeles), and Miss Nancy Ridgway, Pi Phi sisters: Mrs. James Sundell (nee Jean Jacobs) and Willa Noble. Margaret Anderson of Bel Air was in charge of the guest book* THEIR SCHOOLSThe bride was graduated from The Principia in St. Louis ana from USC where she was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi and a member of the Radio and TV Association. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grant Worthington Taylor of Washington, D. C,Mr. Cooling was also graduated from USC. was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and was on the varsity crew. He served with the U. S. Navy for two years, returning to USC last fall for graduate work at the School of Architecture. They will live in Bos Angeles.
