Gena De Santis WedTo Manuel Ferris Jr.The wedding of Miss Gena Marie DeSantis, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Geno J. DeSantis of U Grafton St., to Manuel Francis Ferris Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferris of 77 Pope St., took place Saturday in St. Augustin’s Church. The Rev. Joseph P. Coleman officiated.Escorted by her father, the bride was attended by Mrs, Salvatore Raffa, matron of honor, Miss Virginia Duyra, maid of honor, Miss Kathleen Humes, Miss Mary Jenkins, Mrs. Daniel Konchar and Miss Pauline Swanson, with Paula DeLanoy as flower girl. Gordon La Chance was the best man. Ushers were John DeSantis, the bridegrooms's brother, James Ritchie, James Ferris, Daniel Konchar and Salvatore Raffa, and Michael Furna was the ring bearer. ’The bride’s gown of silk organza and Venise lac? ted a ruffled neckline, lantern sleeves and full train, worn with a long veil of illusion gathered to a lace trimmed toque. She carried a bouquet of phalaenopsis oi chids, stephanotis and yellow and white sweetheart roses.The attendants wore empiregowns, combining white voile bodices with skirts of white, maize arid green print, and carried baskets of white daisies, white carnations and yellow sweetheart roses.A reception was held at the Ramada Inn in. Portsmouth. After a trip to Bermuda, the couple will live in Newport.The bride, 'a graduate of Rogers High School, attended the University of Rhode Island and is employed at the Naval s Supply Center.
