OAERETT, JR. at BENNS CHURCH SATURDAYThe marriage of Miss Emily Whitley Channel), daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Arthur Otis Channell, o f gmithfield, to John William Garrett, Jr., of Haymarket and Carrs* ville, son of Mr. and Mrs, John William Garrett, of Haymarket, took place Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at Benn’s Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Best, pastor of the church, officiating. The church was decorated with evergreens, lilies and cathedral candles, and the wedding music was played by Mrs.A. R. Butler, of Carrsvllle. Preceding the ceremony Prank Moore, of SmUhfleld, sang ‘‘Because and I Love You”.The bride, who entered the church with her father by whom she was given in marriage, wore a gown and court train of white Brussels net over satin, made with high neckline, long tight sleeves and wide full skirt appliqued with motifs of princess satin. Her veil of illusion was caught from a coronet of rose point lace and , orange blossoms and she carried a shower bouquet of gardenias.The matron of honor was the 1 bride’s twin sister, Mrs. O. Gordon Delk, Jr., of Washington, who wore a gown of cyclamen net, with square neckline, shoulders formed with puffs of net and a wide double net skirt. Her flowers were a bouquet of Joanna Hill Roses.The bridesmaids wer Mrs. E. A. Mannlon, of Chic§go, and Miss Bessie Channell, of Smlthflekl, sisters of the bride: Mrs. Ross Minton, of Smith field, and Miss Betty Carter Chapman, of Smithfleld and Washington. They all wore gowns of net styled similar to that of the matron of honor, in orchid, chartreuse, deep aqua and gold, with bridal mode cyclamen hats and slippers to match the dresses. They carried arm bouquets of lavendar larkspur and cyclamen sweet peas.The bridegroom had as his best man his father. John William Garrett, jmd the ushers were O, Gordon Delk, Jr., of Washington, and E. A. Mannlon, of Chicago, brother-in-laws of the bride; Richard Jordan, of Washington, cousin of the bridegroom, and Howard Melton, of Richmond. Prank G. Berrymah, bro-■'ther-in-law of the bride, was master of ceremonies.Mrs. Channell, mother o f the bride, w'ore a gown of black Chantilly lace with a corsage of gardenias, Mrs. J. W. Garrett, mother of the bridegroom, wore shell pinkr lace with a corsage of gardenias. Mrs. Frank O. Berryman, sister of the brtdlt;v wore-a.-gown__of brown and biege sheer crepe with a corsage of Talisman roses.Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Berryman entertained at a reception at Sykes Inn For the bridal party, relatives and out-of-town guests.
