Lorene Sue Beenken of Titon-ka and Paul Lee Bowman of Algona were united in marriage on April 19 by Rev. Carl E.Brand at a 2:30 ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Algona.Parents of the bridal couple are Irvin G. Beenken of Titonka and Orpha Beenken, and Mr, and Mrs. Edward Bowman of Algona.Guests were ushered to their seats by Rick Countryman and John Bowman of Algona, and Lynn Beenken of Emmetsburg.The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, was attended by Mrs. Saralce Twait of Cedar Rapids as matron of honor. Mrs, Deb Bowman of Algona Was the bridesmaid, Sandy Mains of Algona was the bride's personal attendant.Tim Bowman of Algona was the best man and Ron Buenger of West Bend served as the groomsman.The organist, Mrs, Ron Bitz, accompanied Sandy Presthus as she sang Color My World preceding the wedding ceremony and Debbie Laws, who sang Walk Hand in Hand before the exchange of vows. Rev. Brand i sang The Lordls Prayer while the couple knelt at the altar.A reception for 200 guests was held In the church basement following the ceremony. Guest*were registered by Mrs. Gloria Beenken of Emmetsurg. Mr.and Mrs. Loraine Alien of Ha-zelton, aunt and uncle of the bride, served as host and hostess. Punch was served by Karen Thomas of Minneapolis. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Ardell Thomas of Minneapolis and Mrs. Clarence Beenken of Albert Lea, Minn, and coffee was poured by Mrs, Arthur Beenken of Britt, Waitresses were Carole Beenken of Albert Lea, Jolene Bruns of Titonka, Chris Elsbecker of Council Bluffs, and Kathy Thomas of Minne apolis.Gifts were carried by Susan Thompson of Britt and Steve Bowman of Algona. The couple opened their gifts following the reception.The couple spent their honeymoon in central Iowa, Lorcne is a 1973 graduate of Titonka High School. She was formerly employed at Hood's Super Valu in Algona, Paul is a 1972 graduate of Algona High School and Is stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Lorene will join him when he has completed his basic training with the Air ForceA rehearsal buffet dinner for the wedding party was hosted by the groom's parents at their home on Saturday, April 12.
