Vandenberg- Whitaker.The many local frlendg of Mies Hazel Whitaker, a former Fort Wayne girl and daughter of Mr. Eugene B. Whitaker, of the Lincoln highway, will be interested In the announcement of her marriage to Mr. Arthur H. Van den berg at her home in Detroit, Mich., on last Saturday, June 15. Mr. Vandenberg Is editor of the Grand Rapids, Mich., Herald and will take his bride to that city to reside immediately upon their xeturn from a honeymoon trip to eastern cities. Mrs. Vandenberg, who formerly taught. English in the local high school, left here to engage in work with the Associated Charities in Chicago during which time she also wrote for the woman’s page of the Chicago Tribune but for the past few years she has been located in Detroit, where 3he held a position in the advertising department of the Hudson department store. Both she and her husband attended the University of Michigan, where they first knew each other a_nd from which lime their romance dates, The bride ts a ntecfl of the late James B. Harper, of this city, has often visited at the Harper home and the couple is expected to be Sn Fort Wayne some time next week on their return from i the east to make a short visit with Mrs. Harper and daughter, Mrs. Chauncey McAnliS.
