SIXGalvans Attend Swain-Arter RitesSeveral Galva relatives and friends attended the wedding of Miss Janet Swain, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Harold D. Swain, and Ensign Warren H* Arter, son of Mr. and Mrs, Hays Arter. in Kewanee last Wednesday afternoon. It was the first wedding in the newly completed Congregational church, which was dedicated the preceding Sunday.Ensign Arter is the grandson of W. O. Houghton, of Galva. His mother is the former Helen Houghton.In addition to Mr. Houghton, the following Galvans attended the wedding and reception at Midland country club: Mrs. G. A. McClintock, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Johnson, Mrs. E. L. Yocum, Mrs. A. E. Bergland, Mrs. Mynette Barlow and Mrs. Amy S. Nelson. Mrs. Bergland’s daughter, Mrs. Walker G. Dollmeyer, of Toledo, also attended the ceremony.Mrs. Arter attended Kewanee schools and Denison university at Granville. Ohio, after which she enrolled at Michigan State college in East Lansing, where she received her degreethis spring.Ensign Arter also attended Kewanee schools and received his A. B. degree from Colorado college in Colorado Springs last year. After assisting in the office of the E. W. Houghton Lumber company during the summer he entered naval service at Newport, Bhode Island, last fall, where he received his commission in December. He has been assigned to duty in the Philippine Islands.
