J. Lansing of Bode became the bride of Howard Waidell, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wardell of Maynard.The bridal party descended the stairs to the living room, where they took their places before the mantlepiece decorated with cut flowers. Rev. E. C. Haavik of Bode performed the single ring ceremony. The ring was presented in a rote by Juliann Skow, four year old niece of the bride.The bride was dressed in a gown of pale blue silk net over blue embroidered satin. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow roset and long satin streamers.Her attendant, Mrs. Howard Mosley,wore a light green lace dress and a corsage of sweet peas. The ringbearer was dressed in an ankle length gown of peach colored silk organdie with matching accessories.The groom was attended by Howard Mosely. They wore light grey suits with a rose buttonnier.Before the ceremony R. F. Gullixson, cousin of the bride, sang ‘’Because and following the ceremony, “1 Love You Truly.’’ He was accompanied by Mrs. Clausen, who also p ayed the wedding march-Following the ceremony a three course luncheon was served to the bridal party and to thirty-five near relatives and close friends who attended the wedding and reception.Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wardell and Kenneth, Tidon and Doris of Maynard; Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Lansing, Orva and Stanley of Bode; the groom’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wardell, the groom’s grandmother, Mrs. Lane, and an aunt, Mist Waroell, all of Independence; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wardell of Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. William Stanz and Phillip of Ware; Mr. and Mrs. Alan Skow andden Juliann of Rutland; Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Gullixson and the Rev. and Mrs. Haavik of Bode; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mosely, Mr. and Mrs. Olson and Mrs. kes Claussen of Goldfield and Mr. and Mrs. ants Hosfeldt of Linnville.The bride is a graduate of Bode high school and of Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. He is associated in * j business with his uncle, Harry Wardell 1 Oelwein Chevrolet garagt owner.After a wedding trip to Canada the young couple will be at home m ivne Oelwein after July 1.
