/ 14-THE COURIER INDEX, Thurs., June 17, 1982Paula Baker WedsMike Holcomb May 27Marianna Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna was the setting May 27 when wedding vows were exchanged between Paula Lee Baker and Michaei Gene Holcomb.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lee Baker of Moro and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Leon Holcomb, Sr. of Marianna.The Rev. Doyle F. Eakin performed the 7 p.m. ceremony before a background of arrangments of white and yellow carnations and baby’sbreath.Robin Nowlin of Brinkley provided nuptial music at the piano.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length white crepe satin gown, made by her sister, Joan McCoy, featuring a lace bodice and lace inserts on the full gathered sleeves. Her veil of illusion fell from a crown of yellow carnations and baby’s breath. She carried a bouquet of yellow carnations and lily of the valley tied with yellow ribbons.Miss Ruth Baker of Moro, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a green floor length gown, made by her sister-in-law, Sharon Baker, featuring a ribboned bodice. She carried a single long stem yellow rose tied with white ribbons.Mr. Holcomb served his son as bestman.Ushers were Shane Baker of Moro and Kenneth Holcomb of Marianna.The mother of the bride wore apeach floral street length dress with crocheted belt with a corsage of peach silk roses and peach colored ribbons.The groom’s mother was attired in a blue silk dress with matching jacket and a white silk rose corsage at hershoulder.RECEPTIONA reception was held in the recreation hall following the ceremony.The serving table was draped with a yellow and white lace cloth and was centered with an arrangement of yellow and white carnations. The three-tier white cake topped with a pair of white doves was served by Shirley Miles of West Helena, aunt of the groom.Punch was ladled by Mary Williams and Louise Best of Moro, both sisters of the bride.Karen Jackson, cousin of the groom, was in charge of the guest book at a table laid with a yellow cloth trimmed with lace and holding two glowing tapers.For travel the bride wore a lavender sundress with a jacket and a purple orchid corsage tied with lavender ribbons.The couple live in Wheatley and the groom is employed at Marianna Parts Co.OUT OF TOWN GUESTSOut of town guests attending the wedding and reception were Mr. and Mrs. John Baker, Louie Baker, Tommy Baker, Eddie Best, John S. Baker, Phillip Baker, Mary and Shelly Williams, Mr. and Mrs. James McCoy, Lois Tipton, Ross and Edith Kettles, Vicki Conner all of Moro; Ray Hendrix and Tiny Starky of Rosebud; Naomi Grant and Guy Mills of West Helena; Cindy Allen of Helena; Sherry Puckett, Vicki Thetford, Debbie DePriest, Mrs. Paul Baker, David Holcomb and Robin Nowlin all ofBrinkley;Willene Cathey of Fordyce; Betty McClusky and Caroline Eakin of Forrest City; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Jackson of Aubrey; Boyce Hill of Holly Grove; Mr. Mrs. Milton Holcomb of Haynes and Rubin Lovelace of Rondo.
