Married AtSouthern Pines, N. C.A beautiful impressive Rouble wedding took place in St. Anthony of Padua church at Southern Pines, N. C., Saturday afternoon, June 5th, at 4:30 o’clock, when Miss Genevive Kendall became the bride of Lieutenant Elmer Reinders, and Miss Elizabeth Chmura the bride of Lieutenant Robert Funcheon. Rev. H.Harkens performed the ceremony.Miss Kendall wore a two-piece suit effect of medium blue linen with white accessories* Her corsage consisted of pink rose buds.Miss Chmura was dressed in a two-piece suit effect of white linen with white accessories and a corsage of red rose buds.The grooms wore the regulation “pink” uniforms.After the ceremony the newlyweds were invited to the home ofbCaptain and Mrs. Comolli for cocktails and a luncheon.The grooms were granted a nine-day leave for a honeymoon and the newlyweds left for a week-end visit at Raw’eigh, N. C. Monday morning they went to Myrtle Beach, S. C., where they spent the remaining days of the leave.Mrs. Reinders is the daughter of Ed. Kendall of Mallard, Iowa.She received her education at the local schools and was graduated from the Mallard High school in 1939. She is a very attractiveyoung lady and her natural charm created a personality that won for her many friends.Lt. Reinders is the son of T. J. Reinders of Mallard. He was also educated in the Mallard school and was a graduate of the high school in 1931. He assisted his father with farming before his induction into the army April 2, 1942. n He served with Co. K, 359 Infantry at Camp Barkeley in Texas before going to Ft. Benning, Georgia, where he was commissioned a second lieutenant after a three month’s course at the Infantry School. He is now in the airbourne infantry, Co. B—188th Glider Inf., Camp Mackall,N. C.With many other Mallard friends the Leader extends heartiest congratulations and best wishes for many years of happiness.
