FOREIGN NEWS.#RANCfi. .The continental news, like that of our domestic affairs, is dull. The following are extracts from the French papers of, the week,The Moniteur contains the' following paragraph:— “ The Prince de Joinville, on his arrival at Rio de Janeiro, demanded of the Emperor, of the Brazils, with the consent of the King, his father, the hand of her Imperial Highness the Princess Franciaca of Braganza, which was accorded to him. Ther marriage was • to' be celebrated at Rio de Janeiro on the Ist'of. May. The- Prince de Join-villeisnow on his w4y back to France, in the frigate Belle Poule, with the young-Princess, ,his bride.. Their Royal Highnesses are, expected, in the course of next month.” The bride is to have a dowry of £100,000.11 The new daughter-in-law of the King of the French,” says the Commerce, “will shortly enter her 19th year.
