Couple Wed In Double Ring CeremonyIn a double ring ceremony held on Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. in the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Bedford, Nedra Sue Hoy, Everett, and Jeffery Paul Swindell, were united in matrimony by the Rev, Donald Jones,Parents of the couple are Martin and Esther Hoy of RD 3, Everett, and Paul and Joanne Swindell of RD 3, Everett,Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a gown of slippery satin with a fitted bodice and chapel length train. Sequins, seed pearls, and lace appliques adorned the bodice and fitted satin cuffs. A matching headpiece with sequins, seed pearls, and lace appliques adorned the fingertip veil. On an open Bible, she carried a silk bouquet of white rosebuds, white phlox and ivy accented with small white butterflies edged in gold.Matron of honor was Mrs. Carolyn Carroll, of Hopewell, who wore a pastel blue gown with a matching sleeveless lace jacket. She carried a bouquet of pink, blue, and yellow daisies with pastel butterflies accenting bouquet with matching flowers in her hair.Bridesmaids were Tracy Grimes, cousin of the groom, La Rhonda Fletcher, and Cindy Calhoun, wearing gowns of pastel pink spun polyester knit with lace. They carried pink, blue, and yellow daisies with pastel butterflies accenting bouquets, the hair pieces were of pastel daisies.Flower girl was Miss Darla Kay Hoy, cousin of the bride. Her pastel pink nylon gown was accented with white flacking and white lace. She carried a pink basket of pastel colored daisies.Kent Swindell, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were William Diehl, Craig Calhoun, and Randy Smith, cousins of the groom.Ringbearer was Troy Swindell, brother of the groom.Organist was Pam Diehl, pianist was Donna Cox and the soloist was Nancy Calhoun, cousin of the bride, and the guest book attendant was Connie Perrin.A reception was held at the Everett Sportsmans’ Club following the ceremony.The three tiered wedding cake, decorated with pastel colored daisies and beige butterflies topped by a throw away bouquet of pastel daisies was made by Mrs. Susan Ritchey.All flowers were done by cousin of the groom, Mick Gordon.The bride is a 1976 graduate of Everett Area High School and was employed by Howard Johnson’s, Breezewood.The groom is a 1979 graduate of Everett Area High School, and is a 1981 graduate of Pittsburgh Technical Institute of Drafting and Design. The groom is employed by Newport News shipbuilders as a designer on nuclear submarines.The couple is residing at 725 Antrim Drive, Newport News, Va.
