flag Day Observed—An appropriate program was presented in observation, of Flag Day, Saturday afternoon by the members of Mary Marshall chapter, Daughter of the American devolution and the Peye Marquetterratnot.Bosserd-Redfield—Miss Alma Gharlotte Bosserd,daughter of Mr. and Mrs. GeorgeEosserd of Marengo township, was united in marriage with William Marvin Redfield. Wright, in north Modi- Methodist church in Holland, theson street. The meeting was held on. the lawn, which formed an especially beautiful setting, at this season with, many, spring flowersin blossom. Mrs. L. K. Cook, the regent, presided and presented the chaplain, Mrs* Charles H. Vaaj, who offered a prayer. The flag salute was given, after which a short business session was held. Mrs. Cook gave a short and impressive .summary of the achievements of DA. R., during the past year, particularly mentioning the two Marshall high school girls, \v,ho were honored, Miss Naomi Eejfer, -who represented tfife ~ state on the good citizenship tom- to Washington, D. G.r and Miss Mar-; garet Waid, who received the D. A. R, medal for high scholastic standing. Miss Harriet Simons was in charge of the direction of the flag pageant, “Flag Facts, written by Mrs,' CJeorge W. . Moran, and presented by the C. A. R, The pageant was exceptionally well done in a gay and pretty setting. Late afternoon, tea was served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. L, W. Main, Mrs. F. L. MeWethy, Miss Frances Brewster and Miss Harriet Simons. This was the final meeting of the current season.only attendants were Mr. and Mrs, Clarence Prentice of Ionia, the latter a sister, of ttie groom.. Mrs.Redfield was graduated front Marshall high school in the class of 1934, while Mr. Redfield was a member of the 1932 graduating class of Eaton Rapids high school. He is now employed at Walter’s Service station. Following a trip thru northern Michigan, Me, and Mrs. Redfield will be at home to their friends in Marengo. - .....* * * iffWill Entertain Board—Mrs. G. W.
