Groos-Allen Wedding VowsSpoken inMiss Irene Annette Groos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.William H. Gross, and Robert Meredith Allen, son of Mrs.Vivian T. Allen, exchanged wedding vows Saturday evening, May 26, at First United Methodist Church.Dr. E. H. Steeiman of Southwestern University in Georgetown officiated at the double-ring ceremony.Mrs. Joe B. I^emmon was organist.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of re-embroidered lace over satin. The empire bodice was accented in back with a satin bow, and the stand-Church Ceremonyup collar and the wide cuffs of the long, full sleeves were edged in satin. A bandeau of lace flowers accented with pearls held her elbow-length veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and baby’s breath. For something old, she wore her grandmother’s wedding ring, and for something borrowed, the groom’s great-grandmother’s ring.Miss Barbara Groos, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor, and Miss Nancy Allen, the groom's sister, and Miss Susan Stigler of Houston were bridesmaids.They wore princess style1 Pir StudioMR AND MRS ROBERT MEREDITH ALLENdresses of flowered blue voile with the maid of honor’s lined in blue and the bridesmaid’s lined in white. The gowns featured stand-up collars, short puffed sleeves, and half-belts. The maid of honor wore a white picture hat with blue ribbon streamers. They carried colonial bouquets of blue mums and baby’s breath with blue and white streamers.Don Hammons of Ixivington, New Mexico, served as best man, and Rod Hamilton of Dallas and Brad Ebeling of Houston were groomsmen.Attired in black tuxedos, the groom and his attendants wore ruffled shirts; the groom’s in white and the groomsmen in blue.Ushers were Lt-jg Michael Groos of Pensacola, Florida, the bride’s brother, and Tat-sushi Kubo of Kawasaki, Japan.For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Groos chose a peach knit street-length dress with white accessories. Mrs. Allen, the groom’s mother, wore a full-skirted dress of brown and white voile with white accessories. Both mothers wore white cymbidium orchids A reception at the F ellowship Hall followed the ceremony.
