SUNDAY, JUNK 1,‘i, 15)71Miss Janie Marie Elrod,Benny Trowbridge WedA large spiral brass candle-tret holding tapers flanked an altar banked with white gladioli and doves with a brass archway for the formal marriage of Miss Janie Marie Elrod and Benny Cleve Trowbridge. Vows were exchanged in the First Church of God with Rev. Alvin Lay and Rev. Charles Long officiating for the double ring vows at 8 p.m., June 12. The altar held an anniversary candle behind the prie dieu. Family pews were marked with green foliage and white doves.Mrs. Buck Osborn, organist, presented pre-nuptial selections and accompanied the soloist, Lewis Jordan, who presented “Twelfth of Never,” “Whither Thou Goest,” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The bride’s song was “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.”Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James D. Elrod, 5600 Montana, and Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Trowbridge of San Angelo.When presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a family traditional gown worn by both of her older sisters and remodeled each time by their mother. The floor length gown was fashioned of re-embroidered candlelight Italian imported lace with self cathedral train and a Victorian neckline. The high neckline and tapered sleeves were outlined with imported lace that was band sewn with seed pearls by her mother. The lap of the gown was traced; with heirloom pearls and rhinestones by her aunt, Mrs. Ralph Taylor. The French illusion veil was a two tiered blusher and was secured to a pillbox adorned with the matching lace appliques encrusted with pearls and crystals. Her bouquet was a cascade of slephanotis centered with a lavender orchid.Matrons of honor were her two sisters, Mrs. Ronnie Neal anl Mrs. Wayne Haire. Bridesmaids were Misses Sherry Trowbridge, sister of the bridegroom; Gloria Dove and Linda Killion. Brides-' matrons were Mrs!*Happy Baggett and Mrs. Lonnie Trowbridge. They wore identical gowns in floor length miro-mist orchid with high Victorian necklines and leg-o-mutton sleeves. They wore matching orchid picture hats and carried baskets of silk roses in spring colors. Their cam6o pins, gifts of the bride, were pinned at the throat.Ronnie Dean Neal, nephew of the bride, escorted Miss Sue Ann Millican. flower girl, who was gowned identically to the bridal attendants. Neal wore purple knee length pants with an orchid ruffled skirt and orchid knee length socks.L. C. Trowbridge served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Ronnie Neal, Herman Sof-fell, Wayne Haire, Ralph Taylor. Lonnie Trowbridge and Robbie Trowbridge, .brothers of the bridegroom. Ushers were Bobby Herndon and Jimmy Hudson. Charles Trowbridge, cousin of the bridegroom, carried rings.For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Elrod chose a pale pink lace coat dress and bone accessories. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. Trowbridge wore teal blue, with knitted lace tunic, designed with long chiffon sleeves and matching accessories. TheirThe couple was honored wilh a reception in the fellowship hall. The bride’s table was spread with a while satin design floor length. The three-tiered cake was separated between licrs with triple columns and cherubs and topped with orchid wisteria and doves with clusters of roses between columns. White sugar bells and orchids were along the sides of the confection. A silver candelabrum held crystal votive cups surrounded with the bride’s bouquet. Bridal punch was served by Julie Webb from an antique bail shaped punch bowl. It was an heirloom of the bridegroom’s family. An orchid net ring with purple ribbons and violet clusters and long purple streamers completed the festive table. Miss Debbie Davis served from crystal appointments.Gold archway and gold wedding bells decorated the bridegroom’s table, A gold felt cloth spread the board trimmed in gold. A chocolate cake with gold lace trim was served. Coffee was poured from silver service. Gold flat wear and gold grapes with while china completed the selling. Glenda Adams served cake; Karen Reeder registered guests; Myndi Bettes was at the i(ill tabic and Kathy Holley handed out rice hags. Mrs. Ernest Colvin Jr. was head of the houscparly.For a wedding trip, the bride changed to a pink silk crepe suit wilh pink blouse and the orchid lifted from her bridal bouquet. She is a 1!)7I graduate of Permian High School and Columbia Secretarial College, and is sweetheart of the Downtown Lions Club She was a member of the PUS Girls’ quartet, and was choir officer. The bride was a National Honor student in high school.Her husband is a 1070 graduate of San Angelo Lakevicw High School where he played football, lie has his master's do-MRS. Karen Reeder entertained with a linen shower May25.The rehearsal dinner was catered at the church fellowship hall by the bridegroom’s parents.
