A candlelight ceremony Tuesday ‘evening at Central Methodist Church united in marriage Miss Elizabeth Lee Bartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tasso Bartz of this city, and Robert William Kirkham, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Barl Kirkham of Houston. The Rev. Bascom Merchant and the Rev. Walton B. Gardner offi ciated. ENTERING ON THE arm of her father, the bride was preceded by her honor attendants, Mrs. Donald E. Richardson of Galveston, Mrs. David M. Russell Jr. and Miss Margaret Hudson, both of Dallas, and Miss Bette Ann Wilson, Aus tin. She chose a gown of embroidered Swiss organdy. The oval neckline was underscored by a petal effect of scalloped organdy. The elon gated bodice, molded from a scal loped waistline, was finished by brief shirted sleeves. Tiers of organdy ruffles, flowing from a princess panel in the front, formed the bride’s skirt, which cascaded into a train. Her veil of silk fusion fell from a coronet of silk leaves! ' ‘THE BRIDE'S BOUQUET was an arrangement of white orchids and lily of the valley. Her attendants wore identically jatyled dresses of mint green, em broidered organdy with cameo bod yices and ballet length skirts. White ‘peony petals formed their head dresses, and each carried a cas cade of white peonies. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Bartz selected mauve peau de soie with a side drape and sweet heart neckline. Matching accesso ries and a pink toned orchid cor sage completed her costume. The bridegroom's mother chose crystal blue silk lace, complement ed by matching accessories and a corsage of white orchids. Her dress was fashioned with a portrait neckline. DR. JAMES E. Kirkham Jr. served his brother as best man. Groomsmen included Reed Bartz, brother of the bride, and Melvin Kurth Jr. and Ben Ward Jr. of Houston. Delano Keahey and Lee Ballard ushered. A reception followed the reli el ballroom. House party mem bers included Mrs. Albert Janke Jr., Mrs. Robert N. Mackey, Miss Ann Hamilton, Mica Christane Sykes and Misa Jane Taylor, all of Galveston, Miss Jo Ann Dunn, Dal las, Mrs. Charles Foreman, Okla homa City, and Mrs. John Parnell, Houston. After a wedding trip to Mexico City and Acapulco, Mr. and Mrs. Kirkham plan to reside in Hous ton, where the bridegroom is an architect. The bride's travel ensemble was a beige silk and linen suit, worn with brown and white accessories and a white orchid corsage. MRS. KIRKHAM is a graduate of Ball High School and Southern Methodist University. She belonged to Delta Gamma sorority, and is a member of the Galveston Girls’ Cotillion Club. _ Mr. Kirkham was graduated one Lamar High School in Hous ton before receiving his degree in architecture from Rice Institute. Included among the out-of-the- city wedding guests were Gordon ee Sr. of Greensburg, La., grand father of the bride; Mrs. O. §. Dawson, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Bartz Sr., Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. W. . Dartz, Brownsville ;and Mr.and Mrs. H. W. Wilson, Austin, and Col. and Mrs. George. Hudson, New Orleans.
