PETTIGREW-M LACGHLIS.#Dr. Charles Pettigrew, of Houston, and Miss McLaughlin, of this city, were united in marriage last evening, at 4 o'clock, at the home of Fred Kissling and wife at Indianapolis, by Rev. A. B. Philput of the Christian church, Dr. Pettigrew is a practicing physician at Houston, Jackson county, and is quite well known here, having formerly been employed at the hospital by Dr. Banker. Mrs. Pettigrew is the daughter of A1 McLaughlin and wife, and has a host of friends here. Her marriage was a complete surprise to everyone here, except her parents.This morning's Indianapolis Journal contained the following complimentary notice of the wedding:The formal announcement to the friends of Miss Mary McLaughlin, of ColumbuB, Ind., and Dr. Charles D. Pettigrew, formerly of Columbus, but now of Houston, Indiana, of their marriage in this city last night will be made to-day. The oremony was performed at 4 p. m. by the Rev. Allan B. Philputt, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Kissling, on Windsor st.The bride is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Albert McLaughlin, of Columbus, and a granddaughter of Hezekiah Griffith, of that place. She occupied a prominent place in the society of that city, and has been one of its most popular young women. The marriage was performed here at the request of her parents, who were not desirous of witnessing the ceremony which would take from them their only child. The event has been kept secret except from a few of the most Intimate acquaintances. Among them was Mrs. Kissling, who at the time of her marriage, two weeks ago, had Mrs. Pettigrew as her maid, Miss Voris, of Columbus, and Dr. Michaels, of Muncie, 111., who were yesterday the only guests. Mr. and Mrs. Pettigrew left last night for Houston, which will be their home.
