Wedding AnnouncementSt. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Winnipeg was the scene of a beauftifut wedding on May 13, 1995 when Patricia, daughter of Jim Anna Kawadas of Winnipeg, was united in marriage to Douglas Ashton, son of Jim Audrey Ashton of Rivers. Reverend Demetrios Karambeias officiated with assistance of the Koumbara”, MarthaTserghons (Patty’s lodmother).'he bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a... beautiful gown featuring asea shell pattern on the sleeves the tip of her cathedral length train; a sweetheart neckline; pearled sequined bodice and full princess skirt. The groom wore his RCmP scarlet red dress uniform.The bride was attended by Arlana Sorenson, Maid of Honor; Bridesmaids, Shelley Danish, Angie Skiavenitis, Janice Boone in navy blue street length dresses and carried orchid rose bouquets that matched the bride’s.James Heapy was Best Man. Groomsmen were Kent Ashton, Spiros Kawadas, Chris Semeniuk. They wore black tuxedos, red vests ties.Flower giri, Jennifer Treloar, in her white dress, was carrying a satin basket of roses and carnations. Ring Bearer, Jason Benias in his down-sized RCMP dress uniform almost stole the show!Guest book attendants were Donald Williamson and Cath Osier; door attendant was Constable Chris Swain.Jamie McFadden piped the wedding party into the reception hall at Vasa Lund Park where Tom Benias was master of ceremonies.The bride groom flew to Greece for their honeymoon. They returned June 4 and will reside in St. Walburg, SK. where Constable Ashton is stationed.
