Sawyer, Segert*Heights Girl Is Bride in Crete RitesThe wedding of Miss Phyllis Sawyer, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Sawyer, 221 West 13th street, and Everett Segert, son of Mrs. Ella Luecke of Crete, was solemnized recently in Trinity Lutheran church, Crete, with the Rev. Albert Kretzman officiating. The pastor performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with palms and roses and illuminated with tall tapers.Approaching the altar on the arm of her father. Miss Sawyer wore a white lace and tulle gown complemented with a small French* crown and a fingertip* veil of silk illusion. The bodice, fashioned of rosepoint lace, was styled with a portrait neckline edged with seed pearls and sequins and had long tapered sleeves. A flounce of j rosepoint lace trimmed the | bouffant nylon tulle skirt.! White roses, carnations and stephanotis made up her bouquet.Miss Patricia Sawyer was her sister’s maid of honor. Other attendants were Mrs. Irene Se-' gert, Miss Elsie May Claus and I Mrs. Evelyn Robinette. Shirley Hansen was junior bridesmaid. All wore white figured nylon waltz length gowns over mauve taffeta and ruffled net. They carried pink roses and carnations.Elroy Luecke was best man. j Groomsmen were Wilbert Segert, Kenneth Sawyer. Jr., and I Charles Flynn. Roger Held car-| ried the rings.“The Lord’s Prayer” and “Wedding Prayer” were sung by Robert Stogentin. Herman | Meyers played the organ accom-j paniment.Mrs. Sawyer appeared in a champagne silk dress with pink accessories. Pink silk and white accessories were worn by Mrs. Luecke.A reception was held at the j Beecher Community hall with guests attending from Chica-i go, and cities in Michigan, Ohio | and Indiana.The bride, a secretary at Penn | Salt company, is a graduate of •Bloom iownship high school. JThe bridegroom, also employed at Penn Salt, is a graduate of ’ Crete-Monee high school. After a trip to New York City they will be at home at 630 Lowe, i Chicago Heights.
