Surprise ShowerMiss Betty Rose Pa hike was a j surprised young lady indeed Mon- i day evening. June 8, when she arrived at the home of her aunt, Mrs.Wm. Witt, *2634 Union st., where she was sent ostensibly to pick up a parcel for her mother, when on j entering the home she was greeted j by friends and relatives in a surprise bridal shower. jMany were the useful and attractive articles (with a few humorous ones thrown in) showered on the bride-to-be and merriment ran high as she attempted to pick a parcel that should have a deciding fate for some guest present.The evening was concluded withcards and bunco after which de- j licious refreshments were served, i Mrs. Witt and Miss LaVergne Volp were hostesses of the evening.Betty Rose is the daughter of j Mr. and Mrs. Julius P.;hlke, 2517 j W. Prairie st. and will become the | bride of Howard Edmunds, son of : Mr. and Mrs. Walter Edmunds, 2456 W. Grunewald St., on June 27.
