The first of this week the friends of Thomas A, Drake, one of the jov-11 Drake Bros, at Cherry Bend smith of Melvin, were ail alert with expect*ancy, : ;\v*Thomas had gone away on a tripand it wan no secret, that he would return with a better naif jo brigueu ,his future pathway. hj Miss Grace, the accomplished da ugh I ter of David McGhesney of Mt. Joy, Ohio, is the fortunate lady, and on Monday they made their way to the Probate office at Wverly, where they procured the license, and ending in Rev, W, E. Pryor, about noon the magic ceremony was duly performed. Mr. and Mrs. Drake then drove by auto the ninety mile trip totheir home at Cherry BendWhile this mm transpiring Toms friends here were busy, The hand, of which he ims been faithful member for a number of years, arranged to go out and give him a serenade, and the entire neighborhood about this spacious and beautiful country home, turned out with gum and ammunition and even dynamite to make the welkin ring ih honor of the coming of Tom and his bride,. After the cannonading was over ^he ai8sera’ bled multitude was invited in and greeted in true reception style and after all had been received they were seated on the big' lawn and at tables In the house and bushels of choice cake, gallons of ice cream and lemonade, dozens of banana* and boxe* j of cigars were consumed while Tom and his bride, seated an the well-lighted veranda, enjoyed the occasion as well as any visitors.Congratulations and best wishes an extended on every hand
