Leydig,JohnsonweddingBUFFALO MILLS, Pa. — A year ago today, June 10, 2000, Debra Johnson and William Leydig were united in marriage at Bible Gospel Church, Buffalo Mills. Officiating the ceremony was Fay Leydig. Kitty Troutman was the organist.The bride is the daughter of Elizabeth Lavin, Mount Savage, Md. The groom is the son of Shirley and the late William Leydig, Hyndman.The bride was escorted to the altar by Terry Emerick, Mount Savage, friend of the bride. The bride wore a traditional gown in satin with a halter-style neckline and a tiara headpiece with fingertip veil. The gown's hemline was scalloped with a chapel train and the entire gown was sequined and pearled with cut work and lace.Flowers were white carnations tipped in navy blue.Serving as matron of honor was Carla Moore, Mount Savage, friend of the bride. Bridesmaid was Amy Leydig, Hyndman, daughter of the groom. Flowergirl was Maris-sa Miller, granddaughter of the groom.Acting as best man was Floyd Shoemaker, Hyndman, friend of the groom. Groomsman was William Lavin, Mount Savage, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Jackson Leydig, grandson of the groom.Susan Fleegle and Lela Leydig, family of the groom, served the cake. Photographs were taken by Todd Diehl and Kenny Nolan. The music was by Jim Zelaskowski. The couple danced to Allison Kraus’ “You Say It Best When You Say Nothing at All.” Dinner followed the wedding at the Barrelville Outdoor Club. Mary Ann Grapes catered the meal. The decorations were made by the bride’s mother.Debra is a graduate of BeallHigh School and the Center for Career and Technology Education. She is currently employed at CareFirst Blue-Cross BlueShield of Maryland.William is a graduate of Hyndman High School and employed at Bedford Memorial Hospital.
