Methodist Church CeremonyUnites Couple In MarriagetitlRev. Ronnie Templeton officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony at Rocky Mount Methodist Church Saturday, June 4, which united in marriage Miss Nancy Lee Johnson and Charles Lynn Morrison. Miss Martha McAbee of Troutman was pianist for a program of traditional wedding music and accompanied the soloist, Jim Summers of Scotts.Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin S. Johnson of route 1, Troutman, the bride is a Troutman High School graduate and a rising junior at Appalachian State Teachers College, Boone. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morrison of route 8, Statesville, graduated at Scotts H:*gh School and attended Barber’s school in Winston-Salem. He is employed at Danis Barber Shop in Charlotte.f]Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a gown of candelight silk faced peau de soie and chantilly lace. Fashioned with a round neckline and fitted bodice with long sleeves the gown featured a deml-belle skirt with detachable train. Lace appliques adorned the neckline, train, and front of the skirt. Her full-length mantilla veil was caught with a cluster of white flowers and she carried a cascade of white frenched carnations and stephanotis centered with Phaelanopsis orchids.Miss Mary Frank Overcash was maid of honor and brides-maids were Mrs. Dean Robinson of route 4, Mooresville, Mrs. Jim Summers of Scotts and Mrs. Legrand Payne of Statesville. Their street-length dresses were yellow crepe with short sleeves and bell skirts and their bouffant veils were caught with yellow fabric roses. They each carried a cascade of Marguerite daisies and English ivy.The honorary bridesmaids were Miss Anna Cook of Cleveland, Mrs. Jim Sipes of Troutman, Miss Shawn Nichols and Miss Reba Sue Miller both of North Wilkesboro, Miss Carlo Mayfield of Morganton and Miss Donna Van Tassen of Stanton, Va. They each wore pink and carried a long-stemmed white carnation.Glen Morrison was best man and ushers were Vernon Clontz of Statesville, Hugh Clontz of Troutman, Albert and Steve Morrison, both of Statesville.For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Johnson wore mint green crepe and the bridegroom’s mother wore blue linen. Both had corsages of white carnations.Immediately following the cer-mony the bridal couple and their parents received the wedding guests In the vestibule at the church. After a wedding trip to the beach Mr. and Mrs. Morrison will be at home in Radio Apartments, Charlotte.For travel the bride changed to a blue crepe dress complemented with a jacket of champage lace and pinned the orchid from her bridal bouquet on her shoulder.Lawn Party Given For Bride-ElectMrs. Dale Rogers and Mrs. Steve Hager shared hostess honors at a recent lawn party for Miss Jean Tucker, who will marry David Franklin Byers on July 2 at St. Mark's Baptist Church.A pink and white color note was used in the decoration and refreshments of cake squares, punch, nuts and pickles were served to the 40 guests.Miss Tucker’s honor gifts were a steam iron and thermal , blanket.
