, .tune 10, 1941—‘ ‘iinrn i - -■Miss Margaret Cupp Is Wed To Dr. Henry Stanley Roane In Home Ceremony—Characterized by dignity and charm was the beautiful wedding ceremony Saturday evening, June 7th, which united in marriage Miss Margaret Vernon Cupp, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Vernon Calvin Cupp and Dr. Henry Stanley Roane, son of Mr. and Mrs, H. S. Roane.The ceremony in the home of the bridle’s parents was preceded by a delightful program of nuptial music, by Mrs. Fred Crowder at the piano. She played Schubert’s Serenade,” The Fifth Nocturne,” and Lange's Flower Song.” Miss Frances Maroney ol' Lufkin,-' Txas, aunt of the bride, sang Oh Promise Me,” by De-Koven. : ;As the bride entered the spacious drawing room, {he strains of Lohengrin’s Bridal Chorus” were heard. During the double ring ceremony Miss Clotiide Reed of Farmerville, played on the violin Gounod's; “Ave Maria,” accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Crowder,. The bride’s parents stood oh one side of' the smilax-drapecj alta, where twin white satin kneeling pillows strewn with gardenias, were placed between tall urns containing beautiful arrangements of specimen gladioli Madonna lilies, and shasta daisies. At the other side of the altar stood the bride’s sister, Mrs. William Andrew Jackson Lewis. Little Miss Mary Ann Davis, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Galen Davis, was the adorable flower girl. She wore a floor-length pink tulle frock. Mrs. Cupp’s charming gown was of Dresden blue chiffon, and Mrs. Lewis wore a smart bouffant frock of pastel blue organdy.Burning white tapers in crystal candelabra, lighter the entrance of the bride. She was a picture of loveliness in her wedding gown of white Mousseline De Sole, banded with Valenciennes lace. Her veil of cloth of illusion, was fastened about her hair with a halo of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and stephonotis. At the con-’clusion of the ceremony Mrs. Crowder played Mendelssohns' Wedding March,,'’ Dr. Guy M. Hicks reed the marriage service in the presence of the family and a group of friends, who congratulated the attractive young couple during the reception which followed.In the dining room the bride’s table, beautifully laid with Madeira lace and linen had as its centerpiece the wedding cake, a dainty ancl beautiful work of culinary art. As the bride cut the cake the guests were served delicious ices, miniature candy wedding rings, and embossed bridal cakes. Twin candelabra, holding tall while tapers illumined the table.The gift room, tastefully displayed an array of exquisite wedding presents which included two sets of china, a complete service in the bride’s chosen sterling, and her gold banded crystal, as well as lovely linen, and art objects.Mrs. Roane chose for her traveling ensemble a stunning blue printed sheer, with matching coal. Her accessories were black and her becoming black hat was trimmed with pink roses. She wore white gloves. The bride is a favorite here where she received her schooling, having attended Ruston High school and graduated from L. P. I. She then did graduate work in Romance languages at L. S. U., during which time she won an international scholarship given by the university for, a year’s study in the University of Rome, in Italy. During that year she traveled extensively on the continent and in England. Since her return from Europe she has taught in Haynesville.Dr, Roane is' a likeable young lieutenant in the United States Medical . corps at Camp: Shelby, near Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He received his B. S. degree from L. S, U., and graduated from L, S. XI. Medipal schopl. Jlis interneship was served in Shreveport ;-after which he was associated With Dr. J. B.
