June 4. at eight o'clock, at the First Baptist churrh. when Miss Elizabeth Spence became the bride of Mr. Roscoe Morgan. The beautiful double ring ceremony was used, Jiev. Buren Sparks, pastor of the Baptist church reading the service./The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Spence, and has lived most of her life in Alpine. She graduated from Alpine High school.afterwards attending Baylor University and Sul Ross college. She also took a nurse’s training course at Hotel Dleu in El Paso. In these various associations she has always had a warm circle of friends.5The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Morgan of McLean, Texas. He has been a popular student aW, Sul Ross for four years, and will fbe principal of the school at Shamrock next year. Preceding the ceremony. Miss Ernestine Behrens sang **I Love You Truly, being accompanied at the piano by Miss Ethel Skevtngton. Promptly at eight o’clock to the strains of Mendelssohn'sWedding March, played by Miss Skevtngton, the bridal party entered. The minister entering from a side door took his place before the altar which was decorated with a beautiful trellis of greenery andgreeneryhuge floor baskets and urns holding pink, blue and white flowers and ferns. The bridesmaids. Miss Annie ^ate Sandlfer. and Miss Katherine Turney, wearing charming frocks of blue organdie and carrying bouquets of blue delphinium and gypsophalia. entered from the right aisle. Following them came the matron of honor. Mrs. Lawrence Hilliard of San Antonio whose gown was similar to those worn by the bridesmaids, and who carried the same flowers. Thehaid of honor. Miss Bessie Chyle Leath, then entered wearing a peach organdie frock and carrying a bouquet of peach sweet peas and forget-me-nots. Preceding the bride came the flower girl, Jackie Louise Cross, charming in a little white silk frock.'^Proceeding down the opposite aisle on the left side came the ushers, Kendrick Behrens, Raymond Wheat and Lawrence Hilliard of 8an Antonio. Following them came the best man Charlie Ogle, all the men of the wedding party handsome in dark blue suits. Preceding the groom came the ring bearer. Dicky Slight,ding attendants having taken their places about the flower decked altar. the bride entered, wearing a dainty wedding gown of starched chiffon with a short train. Her veilwas held in place by a cap of old point lace. She was met at the altar by the groom, who wore a greybusiness suit. After the impressive ceremony the Mendelssohn marchwas again played as a recessional. The members of the wedding party, and relatives were guests at breakfast of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Spence. Immediately after the breakfast the bride andgroom left for a short honeymoon trip to Madero Springs. On tneir return they will attend Sul Ross summer school, and in the fall will go to the Panhandle where Mr. Morgan will be principal of the Shamrock school.MRS. SPENCE ENTERTAINS HONORING DAUGHTERMrs. Ray Spence entertained with a buffet supper Saturday evening and a slumber party, honoring her daughter, Elizabeth, whose marriage to Mr. Roscoe Morgan occurred Sunday morning. The guests were the wedding attendants of the bride, and Misses Merle Byler and Lucile Perry, members of 1933 class of Sul Ross.MRS. WOOD HOSTESS TO WEDNESDAY CLUBThe Wednesday club met June I, with Mrs. C. D. Wood as hostses. Theguests were Miss Laura Harris of Corpus Christi; Mesdames A. C. Spaulding. W. D. Burcham, R. A. McMurry. Anja Wilson, J. E. Burgess. Zeb Decle. John Gillett, Clay Holland. Wells McIntyre, Ernest Mollison. Shirley Scales. H. O. Watson. High score among guests was won by Miss Harris and for club members by Mrs. Burgess, each receiving a deck of cards. The hostessserved a salad course.CONTRACT CLUB IS ENTERTAINEDMiss MariePouncey entertained her Contract club on Tuesday afternoon. On arrival of the guests a delicious and refreshing salad course was served. Contract followed, andafter several games. Mrs. J. W.games.Shcpperd was found to have high score, and was presented with a pair of silhouette pictures. Prize for second high score, an organdie boutonniere, was won by Mrs. Todd Patton. Those present were Mesdames Arch Allen. Rush Moody. W. H. Terry. Jr., J. W. Shepperd, Todd Patton, Hodges Schroedcr Milton Gilmer, Zeb Decie.
