Holman-WilsonAntoinette Lashel Holman of First Street, Gibsonville, and Christopher Leandes Wilson of Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, exchanged wedding vows Saturday, June 5, 1993, at 3 p.m. at Jeffries Cross Baptist Church. The Rev. Frankie Jones officiated, and music was by Angela Curry and Garson Pettiford, vocalists, and Mark Davis, pianistThe bride is the daughter of Rachel L. Holman of First Street, Gibsonville, and Wallace L. Holman Jr. of Norcross, Ga. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard E. Wilson of Kilby Street, Burlington.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown with beaded pearls, sequins and re-embroidered Schiffli lace; a fitted bodice; basque waist with lace appliques; full gathered skirt; and cathedral train with appliqued cutouts. Her waist-length illusion veil with pouf was secured to a crown of pearls, satin petals, pearl sprays and sequins, and she carried a cascade of roses, orchids, stephanotis and ivy.Linda K. Lea of Mebane, aunt of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Filomena E. Coble of Greensboro; Volanda Dyer of Charlotte; April Wilson, sister of the bridegroom, and Sheila S. Bush, cousin of the bride, both of Burlington; and Beverly Miles of Burlington, Tamica Lea of Mebane, Cynthia Beasley and Sheilah Mullins of Greensboro and Seletha W. Jones of Hampton, Va., all cousins of the bride.Craig A Tinnin of Burlington, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., she is a technologist with Roche Biomedical Laboratories, Burlington.The bridegroom graduated from Cummings High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., he serves as an electronic computer/ switching systems specialist with the U.S. Air Force stationed in Abilene, Texas.The couple was honored with a rehearsal dinner at Nick’s Cuisine, Burlington, by the bridegroom’s parents; a luncheon at the home of Sgt and Mrs. David Montgomery of Abilene with the bridegroom’s co-workers serving as co-hosts; and a shower / cookout at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Snipes of Elon College with Beverly Snipes, Betty Brown and Linda Lea, the bride’s aunts; Nellie Jeffries, her grandmother; and her mother serving as co-hostesses.The bride was honored with a bed / bath shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bush of Burlington with Sheila S. Bush and Filomena E. Coble serving as co-hosts and a shower at Roche Biomedical Laboratories by her co-workers.The bridegroom was entertained with a bachelor’s party in Greensboro by his groomsmen.
