Delia Alpha Chapter to Bay Bass Clarinet For Junior High Music DepartmentI Officers of Delta Alpha chapter, Delta Theta Tau sorority, were ! installed Thursday evening, May 28, following the regular session of I the chapter at Mitchell-Carnegiei library.| The following officers were in t stalled in an impressive candlelight ceremony conducted by Miss Delma Jennings, assisted by Mrs.I Nelson Pankey, sergeant-at-arms: Mrs. Bert Gaskips Jr., president; iMrs. Garrett Crews, vice-president; Mrs. Gean Hanselman, recording secretary; Mrs. Mary Lou Glascock, corresponding secretary; Mrs. John Humm, treasurer; Mrs Philips Nyberg. sergeant-at-arms; Mrs. John Slightom, historian; Mrs. Andy Anderson, pledge supervisor; Miss Betty Kato, publicity chairman. ,Following the installation Mrs. Morris Skaggs, outgoing president, was presented with a genuine old pine tray. Mrs. Skaggs presented officers and chairmen of committees with gifts expressing her appreciation for their cooperation during the past year.During the business session an-nal reports were submitted by the treasurer and social service committees. It was voted to give the Harrisburg Junior high school music department a bass clarinet, presentation to be made later.Mrs. Gaskins was elected as a delegate to the national convention to be held in Columbus, Ohio inJuly.Mrs. Clyde Pittman was welcomed back into the sorority from the alumni chapter and Mrs. George Lassater and Miss Delma Jennings were granted memberships at large.After the meeting at the library, Mrs. Skaggs held an informal reception at her home. At this time pledges for the coming year were presented, Miss Delma Jennings, presiding. She was assisted by Mrs. Andy Anderson, pledge supervisor, Mrs. Philips Nyberg, sergeant-at-arms, and Miss Barbara Thompson, chaplain. New pledges were Mrs. Howard Coyle, Mrs. T. Y. Gregg Jr., Mrs. Bill Adams, Mrs. Kenneth Vinyard. Miss Myrna Seats, Mrs. Ronnie Ziegler, and Mrs. Jewel D. Barter.Others attending were Mrs. Sam Leberman, Mrs. George Lassater, |Mrs. Harry Jones, Mrs. Kenneth Ozment, Mrs. Thomas McCann, and Mrs. John Foster.[ Costumed Missionaries To Be in Bridal Party Of Miss Norma Lee CumminsMissionaries dressed in costumes to represent many foreign lands will be a part of the bridal party at Nashville, Tenn., June 4, when Miss Norma Lee Cummins, Harrisburg. ancf Jefferson McRee Elrod, Athens, Ga., are married.Miss Cummins, the daughter of the Rev. W. L. Cummins, pastor of the B'irst Methodist church, and Mrs. Cummins, and Mr. Elrod, son of Mrs. Lona McRee Elrod, Athens, Ga., are students at Scar-itt college, Nashville, where Methodist missionaries are trained for foreign service. Dr. Hugh C. Stuntz, president of the college, will perform the wedding ceremony at 4 p. m. in Wightman chapel on the college campus. A reception at Wesley Foundation, Vanderbilt university, Nashville, will follow,An attempt is being made to represent most cultures in the music for the wedding ceremony The wedding march is from Scandinavia, and there will be music from China, Japan, Latin America, France, Germany and England during the ceremony. Miss Rosa Mae Butler, professor of sacred music, Searitt, is the organist and has planned the music.Ushers and those helping to serve refreshments at the reception include the following: Kikui Tamba, Japan; In Sook Moon, Korea; Belkiss Pereira, Brazil; Gladys Richards, India; Jean McLeod, Washington. D. C.; Fidelia Ponce, Chile; Moko Sugiyama, Japan; Sieko Fonizawa, Japan; Reba Sprouse, Tupelo, Miss.; Jean Harrison, Quitman, Ga.; DeLaris Johnson, Orangeburg. S. C.
