As noted in your paper some 3 weeks ago Eleby Jordan, one of our best citi zens, hid away in the Kentucky hills until he had won the heart of a fair widow, not entirely unknown here and caused her to visit and see for her self j the prospects of a pleasant home in the little-hamlet of Griffin, and by the way as she returned home Jordan boarded the same train and on arriving at Evansville pursuaded this noble good women to unite with him on a matrimon-j ial journey of only a few years at most. She consented and Justice Pool made them man and wife. They left at once !for Horse Branch, Ky., her home, and , the home of the night riders, but Eleby ! had gone through the war of the 60’s j and no night ridiug for him and a sale jI II of personal effects was soon arranged ; and back to Indiana he came with his !iwife and they will make Griffin their ' future home and may the richest bless-| ings of Him that bestows so many on*us I all be theirs.
