Mrs. Charles Bradv, of 30 ^TJeacon street. and Mrs. Benjamin Carson, of 103 Linden avenue, over Sunday will on *f* lesday celebrate thefiftieth anniversary of tnHr marriage.Like Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. VanSchaick, of this city, who celebrated their golden wedding on Friday, Mr.E|nd Mrs. Smart were married in El-l*nville, the ceremony having taken y.ace on August 1, i€6. Mrs. Smart was Harriet Elizabeth Billings, a Idaughter of Mr. and Mrs, John L. Billings, who were prom nent in the early social and business li?*1 of El-(lenville.ir j Mr. and Mrs. Smart have always | liv^d at Elienville, except for a few' months w'hen they resided at Pine Bush.rt When a young man Mr Smart was j a glass worker but for many years 8 has been engaged in the marble business, conducting a men :ment works at Elienville.He was a son of Thomas Smart, who was also a glass worker and who I. came to this country from Bristol, England The present Mr. Smart was born at Elienville and Mrs. Smart was 16 born at Litchfield, Conn. Their two daughters mentioned above are the »* oniy children. They have three grand-e children, Misses Florence and Gertrude Brady, daughters of Mr. andI Mrs. Charles C. Brady, and Miss Christine Carson, daughter of Mr. and .Mrs. Benjamin Carson, of this city.Mrs. Smart has two brothers, Al-o pheus Billings, of this city, and Ethel-r bert Billings, of Pine Bush, while Mr. y Smart has one brother living.
