Miss Margie Nell Braswell AndRalph Rudolph Bowen MarriedAt Baptist Church In WilsonWILSON—Miss Margie Nelli only brother of the bride, and Ed-;oler-Wlen•eirB.rest1idlee-ida-Braswell became the bride of Ralph Rudolph Bowen, Saturday evening, July 17, at 7 o’clock in the Five Points Missionary Baptist church. The bride’s pastor, Dr. E. Evans Ulrich, officiated at the double ring ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Braswell of this city, and the bridegroom isthe son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Bowen, also of Wilson.Floor baskets of white gladioli and asters and white arch entwined with ivy, and palms and magnolia leaves decorated the church; White cathedral candles burned in seven-branch candelabra.Mrs. E. Evans Ulrich, pianist, and Mrs. W. J. Ezzell, Jr., vocalist, presented a program of wedding music prior to the ceremony. Mrs. Ezzell sang 4‘Because,” “I Love You Truly” and for the benediction, the “Wedding Prayer.” The traditional wedding marches were played for the processional and recessional.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length dress of white tulle and Chantilly lace. The gown was styled with a strapless lace bodice, bouffant skirt trimmed with ruffles of tulle and a lace spencer fashioned with mandarin collar and long sleeves ending in points over the hands. Her two-tier veil of illusion fell from a cloche of lace embroidered with iridescent sequins and pearls. She carried a lace-covered Bible topped with an orchid and showered with white satin streamers.Maid of HonorMiss Laverne Batten of Micro, a student at Ttlantic Christian college and an aunt of the bride, attended her as maid of honor. She wore a waltz-length dress of light blue net, fashioned with an off-shoulder fitted bodice and full skirt. Her headdress was a bandeau of blue net trimmed with pink, and she carried an arm bouquet of pink carnations and maline.Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Gold a Gray Wright of Seim®,, Miss Nancy Edwards of Kenly, Miss Shirley Benton, Miss Jean Bailey, Miss Jean Petway and Miss Shirley Pittman of this city. They wore pastel evening gowns and each attendant carried a single carnation tied with ribbons of. contrasting color.G. D. Batten, uncle of the bride, served as best man for Mr. Bowen, and ushers were Keith Braswell,ward Lavon Herring of Selma, cousin of the bride.The mother of the bride wore navy blue lace with matching accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. The bridegroom’s mother was wearing a navy blue silk dress with navy accessories, and her corasge also was pink carnations.After the wedding, the bridle couple received in the vestibule of the church.When the bridal couple left for a wedding trip to unannounced points, the bride was wearing a powder blue lace dress wih navy velvet trim and navy accessories. The orchid from her Bible completed her ensemble.Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of Charles L. Coon High school. Mrs. Bowen is employed as a stenographer by Coastal Dairies, inconporated, and Mr. Bowen is associated with Henry Baker Plumbing and Heating company.After their wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs, Bowen will be at home at 405 Broad street.Guests from Micro, Selma, Kinston and Wilson attended the wedding.Cake CuttingFriday night following the wedding rehearsal, the bridal couple was honored at a cake cutting at her home by Miss Nancy Edwards of Kenly, Miss Shirley Benton and Miss Shirley Pittman, three of the honorary bridesmaids.The living room was decorated with arrangements of pastel flowers and ivy. In the dining room, the table was overlaid with a white linen cloth and centered with an arrangement of white flowers in a crystal bowl. Garlands of ivy extended from the centerpiece to the ends of the table.The three-tier wedding cake marked one end of the table.The three-tier wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom, marked one end of the table, and iced drinks were served from the other end.
