Nuptial vows and rings were exchanged in St. Paul’s Luther an Church when Edna Augus tina Christman became the bride of Robert Wayne Thomp son. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Christman of the city and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson of Edmonton. Rev. A. H. Maschmeyer per formed the ceremony before an altar graced with twin baskets of pink carnations and white ‘mums. Maxine Wiese presided at the organ and accompanied soloist Delores Beck as she sang “Whither Thou Goest” and “The Wedding Prayer”. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an empire gown of peau-de-soie poised over satin. Two rows of fringe adorned the skirt, sleeves and court train. Her chapel veil misted from a petal-shaped headpiece outlined with pearls and aurora borealis and she car ried a cascade of pink roses and stephanotis. Arlene Christman attended the bride as maid of honor with Jackie Thompson serving as bridesmaid. The attendants were identically attired in em pire gowns of pink satin-backed crepe. They wore self-fabric floral headpieces and carried bouquets of white carnations. Peter Moore and Bruce Mac Lock attended the groom with Gary Christman and Ronald Dixon serving as ushers. Bouquets of pink and white carnations and ‘mums decorated the Corona Ball Room at a re ception held for 80 guests. The bride’s table was centred with a triple-tiered cake decorated with yellow roses. Edwin Stadel pro posed the toast to the bride. Geordie Martin, clad in a kilt, played “Road to the Isles” on the bagpipes as the cake was passed around. Mrs. Thompson changed to a yellow ensemble complemented with a corsage of white roses before she and Mr. Thompson left on a honeymoon to Eastern Canada. The newlyweds will make their home in Clinton, Ont. Out of town guests attending the wedding were from Edmon ton, Vauxhall, Winnifred, Brooks, Bassano, Schuler, Big Stone, Calgary and Goldens Prairie, Sask.
