After a visit of two weeks here witty her parents, Mr. arid Mrs, A. D. Jacobs, Miss Mamie Jacobs left Monday ostensibly to return to Omaha, via Chilli-cothe, but a letter received by the parents from her the next day revealed the fact that she could keep a secret. At Chilli-cothe she was met by Mr. Hubert VerMerhen of Des Moines,Iowa, and they were united in marriage that evening. Air. .VerMerhen is a returned soldier, now at the head of a business concern at Des Moines in which city they will reside. The bride has the best wishes of her Laclede friends who extend congratulations to Mr. VerMerhen,
