The double-ring eere-nony was performed by the Rev. Charles D..Gilbert.The bride was escorted to he altar by her father and *ivcn in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. \udru D. Skellenger of Jreenfieid. The groom is the »on of Mr. and Mrs. Keith E.i5tone of Chariton.Debra wore a gown of ►vhite ehiffonette with the ;kirt ending in a pleated chantiliy flounce and flow-ng into a chapel-iength rain. The bodice featured a chantilly lace bertha collar ind sheer yoke accented with a medaiion of venise [ace, pearls and pailletts. tier wide-brimmed hat was decorated with venise lace, white silk flowers and dreamers flowing from a oridal illusion bow.She carried a bouquet of dlk eattleya orchids with Uephanotis in a trailing cascade.Judy Haag was maid of ,ionor and bridemaids were Jodi Bandow, Daria Brown, Sheryl Hanson and Donna Skellenger, sister of thebride.Best man and groomsmen were Carrol! Smith. Larry Schmidt. Gene Lihs, Don Stone, brother of the groom, and Karl Stone, brother of the groom.Ring bearers were Tyler Chandler, nephew of the groom, and Bret Skellenger, nephew of the bride. Karla Stone, niece of the groom, lighted candles.Ushers were Gary Chandler, brother-in-law of the groom, and D o u g Skellenger, brother of the bride.Attending the guest books were Denise Grace, cousin of the bride, and Sandy Julius. Personal attendant was Melinda Skellenger, sister-in-law of the bride. Flower attendants were Doreen Garrett, cousin of the bride, and Linda Stone, - sister of the groom.Organist Alice Hogan and guitarist Don Stone accompanied Sheila Hoch as she sang “The Wedding Song,” “Through the Eyes of Love,” “For Baby, For Bobby/* “The Lord's Prayer” and “Bless and Keep You Forever.” Jane Frunze en played “Trumpet Voluntary” as the bride entered the church.Special guests were Hilda Chambers, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Skellenger and Mr. George Kinkead, grandparents of the couple.; Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Greenfield Country Club to honor the newlyweds. Reception hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sackett. Servers were Carol and Linda Stone, sisters of the groom, and Cris Stone, sister-in-law of the groom. Kitchen hostesses were Shirley Haag, Joyce Williams, Sharon Linthieum, Kay Keilenburg, Ruth McGinnis and Eileen Sheriff. Floating hosts and hostesses are former fifth grade students of Debra’s. Maxine Willadson was in charge of gifts.After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will reside in Urbandale.The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Gold Buffet in Winter-set. .Prenuptial showers were hosted by Sheryl Hanson; Jean Cooper and Jodi Bandow; the Van Allen faculty members; and the Masonic Temple in Orient.Debra will be employed with the Colfax Community School District this fall and Kirk is employed with Fasano and Associates Insurance, Inc., where he is the director of group marketing.Celebrates birthday0Mrs. Coleen Gillaspey was guest of honor at a surprise party to celebrate her 91st birthday. The event was held at the Southgate Community room, July 11.A potluck dinner was served at noon. Those attending were; her son, Gienn Gillaspey and Blaine, Amanda and Andrew of.Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gookin and Marsha of Story City; and Dewey Mauk, Dorothy Skinner,,Mr. and Mrs. Roger Allen and Curtis, Lisa Smith, Bradley and Chad, Mr, and Mrs. Paul Umbenhower and Alan, Thelma Moon and Teresa, Marie Shradar and Ruth Gookin, all of Chariton. Other friends came to visit during the afternoon.Cake and ice cream were served and the rest of the afternoon was spent visiting and watching Mrs. Gillaspey open gifts andcards.
