Brenda Babich becomes brideBrenda Lee Babich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Babich, Potsdam became the bride of Patrick Michael Devine, son of Mr. and Mrs, J. Nell Devine of Sanfordville in a double ring ceremony at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, June 21 at 1:00 with Rev.The church was decorated with blue and white daisies and white satin bows on the pews.J Wedding music was “If”, “First Time Ever I Saw Your Pace,” “Today,” and “We’ve only just begun,” with Robert McGill at the organ and Robin Dow, soloist.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of white silk organza with wedding band neckline and long sleeves ending in a flare ruffle of organza. The A-line skirt and tziizz were enhanced by appliques of Venice lace and cluster pearls. A chapel length train flowed from the Empire waist. She wore an elbow length veil of imported illusion held by a cap of Venice lace petals edged with seed pearls.' A small satin bow was at the center back with streamers at each side of the cap. She carried one single red rose and baby’s breath gathered by a white bow and streamer.Betty Frink Was Maid of Honor. She wore a powder blue bib styled gown of organza. The bib was accentuated front and back with white nylon lace which also highlighted the high neckline and cuffs of the long puffed sleeves. Theruffle on the full skirt also featured the white nylon lace. She carried a single pink, rose with baby’s breath and white bow and streamers.Shelly Devine, sister of the groom, was flower girl. Her dress was white lace with blue ribbon accents, puffed sleeves and gathered waist with a large bow in back. She carried a bouquet of blue and white daisies.Thomas MacGregor was best man. Ushers were John Sutherland, cousin of groom, Ronald Phelix, cousin of bride and Lynn Blevins.The bride’s mother wore a pink polyester knit gown with Empire waist accented by a Gardenia corsage.The groom’s mother wore blue polyester knit gown with a white orchid corsage.Following the ceremony a reception was held at Treadway Inn, Canton.The couple left for a brief trip to Lake George. The new bride wore a blue halter gown with a blue-and white daisy corsage.The bride graduated from Potsdam Central and attended Cortland University,The^groom graduated from Potsdam Central and attended Loyala of Montreal and Potsdam State College.He is now serving in the Army Security Agency.They will reside at Fort Deviens, Mass.
