The residence of John E. Hayner, Esq., was the scene, Tuesday evening, or a select gathering to witness tbe marriage of the daughter of the host, Miss Florence E.f to Dr. Wra. A. Haskell. The affair was rery quiet and informal, only the families and relatives of tbe bride and groom bemg present. The oeremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Armstrong. The marriage service took place about seven o’clock. The bride was dressed In traveling costume. At tfco close of the ceremony a choice collation was sewed, after which the bridal pair took their departure for Colorado- The wedding will be reoalled by those who attended it as one of tbe pleasantest gatherings of the kind that ever took place in Alton. The bridal presents from appreciative friends were elegant and beautiful.The high social position of the par-ties had caused this occasion to be looked forward to with great interest in Alton, and the kind wishes of a bost of friends will follow tbe Doctor and his bride on their journey.
