The affair was very quiet and informal, only the families and relatives of tbe bride and groom be’ng present. The ceremony wae performed by the Rev. I)r. Armstrong. The marriage service took place about seven o’clock. The bride was dressed In traveling ocatume. At the olose of tbe oere-mony a choice collation was serred, after which tbe bridal pair took their departure for Colorado The welding will be recalled by those who attended it as one of tbe pleasantest gatherings of the kind that ever took place in Alton. The bridal presents from appreciative friends were elegant and beautiful.The high social position of the par-ties had cauaed this occasion to be looked forward to with great interest in Alton, and the kind wishes of a bost of friends will follow the Doctor and his bride on their journey.
