EngagedMr. and Mrs. Joe Ross Beachum, Jr. of Laurinburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Diane Beachum, formerly of Vass, to Randy Alexis Gatesman of Gibson. The bride-elect is a graduate of Scotland High School and Sandhills Community College and also attended Pembroke State University. She is employed by the Laurinburg Exchange. Her fiance is the son of Robert Eugene Gatesman of Marblehead, Ohio and is a graduate of Oil City High School in Oil City, PA and Venango County Vocational Techical College. He is employed by Andy Anderson Home Sales Inc. as sales manager. A wedding is planned for Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Laurinburg.
