A, Wilson of Winnsboro, became the bride of J. L. Taylor of Freeport, son of John L. Taylor Sr. and Mrs. Ruth Zumwalt, both of Crockett, and Sandra Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R, II. Johnson of 1001 E. Broadway, Winnsboro, became the bride of Tommy Ma$sf son of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Mays of Piekton.The Rev. Thomas Abies, pastor of the Walnut Street Baptist Church of Winnsboro, officiated before an altar decorated with two baskets of white gladiolas and wrought iron candelabra bearing white cathedral tapers and flanked with palms.Accompanied at the organ byin double ceremonyiITIRES FORiTION TRAVELSylvia Hutcherson, Mrs. Robert Davis sang “Because” and Mr. Robert. Davis sang “The Wedding Prayer.”Given in marriage by her father, the former Miss Wilson wore a floor length gown of silk organza over peau de soie embroidered with seed pearls a-round the scalloped neckline and down the front of the full-length skirt which flowed into a chapel length train. Her waLst-length veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls.Mrs. Jerry Wilson, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of I honor, and Vicky Erwin, Sharon Taylor, sister of the groom, and Linda Dean, wearing matching dresses of pastel yellow with scoop necklines and bell-shiped skirts, were bridesmaids.Jimmie McCloud served Mr. Taylor as best man, with Mike Wilson, Ronnie Wilson and Nicky Wilson as groomsmen.The former Miss Wilson is a graduate of Winnsboro High School and was “Miss WHS of t9t4,” band sweetheart, assistant majorette and winner of the John Philip Sousa award.Mr. Taylor attended Crockett High School and is employed byan oil company in Freeport.After a short wedding trip for which the bride wore a beige suit with matching accessories and an orchid from her bridal bouquet, the couple will be at home in Freeport.The former Miss Johnson, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-lenglh, bell-skirted j gown of silk organza appliqued with chantiJJy lace. Her waist-length veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white trenched carnations with pha-laenopsis orchids and a shower of white satin streamers.Miss Kathy Johnson, sister of the bride, served as- maid of honor. She carried a bouquet of yel- j low pom pom mums with white satin leaves and white satin streamers. Bridesmaids were Paula Mitchell, Jill Tedford and Betty Ann Mays, sister of the groom. The attendants wore pastel yellow dresses with scoop necklines and beii-shaped skirts.Larry Mays served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Terry Sheer, Billy Jack Gunn and Leo Alford.The former Miss Johnson at-1 tended Winnsboro High School and Mr. Mays is a graduate of j Piekton High School.After a short wedding trip onwhich the bride wore a blue silk suit with white accessories andan orchid corsage, the couple will be at home at Piekton.For the double ceremony, Bobby Mays and Marilyn Mays, brother and sister of Tommy Mays, were candlelighters and Harold Mays and Lynn Gibson served as ushers,Patricia Darby was in charge of the register for Mr .and Mrs. Mays and Bobbie French was in charge of the register for Mr. and Mvs. Taylor.Hopewell-PleasantGrove services setHopewell-Pleasant Grove memorial services will he held Sunday. July 20, at Pleasant Grove cemetery, Miss Mabel Riebburg. cemetery association president, has announced.The business session will begin at 10:00 a.m.. with the planned program, consisting of special music and a memorial tribute, to begin not later than11:00 a.m., Miss Richburg said.’ ^ Guy Lemmons of Avery, Red River county, former principal of the Pleasant Grove school, will be the main speaker.The morning program will be followed by a basket lunch under the trees.A.
