The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Betty Richards Hornor of New York City and Colonel John Lyford Hornor Jr., U S. Army, of Washington, D. C., and Mells Paddock, Warrenton, Va.Miss Joy Harrison Blair Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Scott Young of Hillspoint Road, and Lieutenant Thomas Richards Hornor, son of Mrs. Betsy Richards Hornor of New York City and Colonel John Lyford Hornor Jr., U.S. Army, of Washington, D C , and Mells Paddock, Warrenton, Va.. were joined in marriage Saturday afternoon at a ceremony in the Trinity Episcopal Church of Southport.White chrysanthemums and lilies and tall candles formed the decorations on the altar, before which the Rev. John H. Esquirol, rector, performed the nuptials at 5:30. Miss Joy Walsh of Westport was the soloist.Douglas Scott Young Jr., escorted his sister and gave her in marriage. She wore a princess style gown of candlelight satin designed with a fitted bodice and wide V neckline edged with French heirloom lace from her great-grandmother's wedding gown, long sleeves pointed over the wrists and a full gathered skirt ending in a long train. Her fingertip veil of Illusion was arranged from a cap of matching lace edged with seed pearls and she carried a spray of white orchids and stephanotis.Mrs Paul KusmanofT of Tol-! land, a cousin of the bride, who was matron of honor, wore a gown of aqua net over taffeta 1 and the maid of honor, Miss . Mary Kay Hauser of Hamden,, anothe rcousin, wore pink net over taffeta. The bridesmaids, Miss Ellen Ross and Miss Betty 1 Findley, both of Westport, wore net and taffeta gowns in green and yellow, respectively. They all had wreaths of ivy in their hair and carried bouquets of large white chrysanthemums.The four flower girls were the Misses Helene and Joan Fink of East Hartford, cousins of the bride, and the Misses Janet and Chloe Richards of Stroudsburg, Pa., cousins of the bridegroom The Fink sisters wore dresses of yellow organdy and the Richards sister wore pink organdy. They all wore wreaths of ivy and carried baskets of white rase petals.John Lyford Hornor 3rd, of Cambridge, Mass., served as best man for his brother, whose ushers included Roderick Mer-riwether Young, brother of the bride, Robbins Conn and Peter Dolge. all of Westport, Frederick Myers of Fairfield, Richard Hall of Drexel Hill, Pa . and Richard Hayes of Syracuse, N Y.Leaving for a wedding trip to Cape Cod, the bride wore a suit of beige Italian silk with black accessories and a white orchidClasses Announced For Flower Show On August 11 And 12Classes for the Fourth Annual Mid-Summer Flower Show to be sponsored by the Fairfield County Horticultural Society, Inc., and cooperating Fairfield County Garden Clubs on August 11 and 12 at the Mill Plain School in Fairfield, have been announced this week.The classes are as follows: specimen classes, annuals, perennials, gladiolus, dahlias, vegetables, fruits, berries, children’s classes for ages 13 to 16, canned fruit, jellies, jams, conserves, marmalades, canned vegetables, pickles and relish, baking, candy, needlework and eggs.There will also be a class open to local florists, consisting of three divisions: a bridal bouquet, center piece for dining room table and an old-fashioned bouquet.Listed in the special classes are: miniature rock garden,centerpiece for table decoration (men only,) flowering pot plant f orchid excluded.* t liage pot plant, orchid pot plant, fern pot plant, foliage house plant, flowering house plant, African violet, unusual potted plant, tubbed plant and basket of any outdoor material arranged for effect.All entries must be in by midnight on August 6 to the flower show secretary. Tne couple mill make their home in Warrenton.Mrs. Hornor was graduated from Staples High Sch»l and attended Greenwich Academy and Finch Junior College. She was presented to society at a party given by her parents and at the Debutante Cotillion Christmas Ball.Her husband attended S'. Albans School in Washington and the Collegiate School in New York City. He was graduated from Cornell University In June, where he was a member of Zeta Psi fraternity and Scabbard and Blade.
