List evening when about twenty-five-members of the Milwaukee car de^ jpartment carried out-a surprise- liari j ty on Mr. aipt Mrs. Peter P. Slater.The event was in the nature of a i»ostnupti;il anil afforded the cm-plover with whom both Mr. anil Mrs. Slater have been working an opportunity to congratulate them heartily upon their recent wedding. The evening was spent.in an informal way. with music ami refreshments. , Tlu guests presented Mr. and Mrs. Slater with a fine kitchen cabinet, a short talk being made by Del Cartwright.Mr. and Mrs. Slater were married at (5ranger Sunday evening. July11th. They expect to begin housekeeping in the Ptlplex house on Fifth St ret about the first of August.
