of the Empire.Wedding Bells.*IiAn exceptionally pretty wedding was solemnized yesterday afternoon when Maria, only daughter )f Mrs. S. Sparkes, Springdale Street, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. E. J. Moore, son of Mrs. Moore, Tor Cottage. Precisely at 3 o’clock, to the strain of the bridal chorus, played by Miss B. Butt, the bride leaning on the arm of Dr. H. M. Mos-dell, who acted as father-giver, entered the drawing room and was received by the groom when the ceremony was performed by Rev. D. B. Hemmeon, B.A., Pastor of Gower St. Church. The birde was handsomely attired in a dress of ninori over white satin, with veil of orange blossoms and carried a beautiful boquet of white carnations. She was attended by Miss F. Moore, as bridesmaid, who wore a pretty dress of lace over yellow satin and hat to match, with tulle streamers, and carried a boquet of pink carnations. The groom was well looked after by Mr. T. Sparkes,brother of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held when the happy couple ' received the congratulations of those present, and at 5 o’clock the party drove to Donovan’s where the bride and groom entrained for Avondale where the honeymoon will be spent. Return to the city will be made next week and Mr. and Mrs. Moore will take up their residence at Tor Cottage. The numerous and beautiful presents received included cheques from the bride’s brother in Mexico, and chequefrom the Nitting Mills of which firm the groom is accountant, and these amply testified to the popularity of the young couple.
