HerrickMartha Thompson Griffin and Robert 0. Herrick were united in marriage on Saturday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. in Maysville Community Church. The Rev. Clemens Farver officiated at the double-ring ceremony.The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson, 29 Gruber Road. The parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Herrick, Greenville RD 1.Gracing the altar were arrangements of light blue and apricot silk flowers.During the ceremony, the couple lighted a love candle and presented their mothers each with a long-stemmed rose.Shirley McConnell served as organist.Given in marriage by herfather, the bride chose tor her wedding day a light blue gown featuring an over-the-shoulder pleated ruffle and A-line skirt. She wore a matching picture hat and held a basket filled with blue and apricot silk flowers.Complementing her bridal ensemble were the traditional items, something old — an opal ring belonging to her grandmother, something new — ‘circle of love’ necklace and earrings, a gift from the groom, something blue — a garter, and something borrowed — a iace handkerchief belonging to her grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Thompson.Bridal attendants were Paula Henry, maid of honor, a friend of the bride; Laurie Thompson, bridesmaid, sister of the bride;Needlecraft Workshop Offered at ChautauquaCHAUTAUQUA, N.Y.Erica Wilson, one of America’s more celebrated needlecraft experts, will conduct a five-day needlecraft workshop this fall at Chautauqua Institution.During the Oct. 8-12 workshop participants will work with three kits which require diverse techniques and provide well-rounded experiences.Miss Wilson and her assistants also will personalize thCir instruction to meet individual proficiency levels. Related evening programs will include exhibits and lecture demonstrations.A graduate of the Royal School of Needlework in London,12onMiss Wilson is the author of best-selling books needlecraft as well as a widely syndicated newspaper column. She also teaches in New York and in Europe.The workshop will be held in Bellinger Hall which houses conference rooms as well as accommodations for sleeping and eating.Enrollment in the week long workshop is limited and reservations must be made before Sept. 7. The flower girl wore an ivory and blue frock. She and the junior bridesmaid wore flowers in their hair. Alfot them carried baskets filled with light blue and apricot silk flowers.GroomsmenBest man for his friend was Robert Reese, Jamestown. Acting as ushers were Terry Swartz, friend of the groom; Warren Keck IV, nephew of the groom; and ringbearer was Christopher Herrick, son of the groom.Remembered with flowers were the parents of the bridal couple, the grandmother of the bride, the organist and the minister.The reception was held at Greenville Sportsman’s Club. Elaine McDonald, Heidi Anthony and Freda Draa served refreshments.After a honeymoon in Virginia, the couple are residing at 56 Rose Ave., Masury, Ohio.The new Mrs. Herrick is a 1967 alumna of Greenville High School and is a houseparent for Mercer County Agency for the Retarded.Her husband, also a graduate of Greenville High School, is a truck driver for Golden Dawn Foods, Sharon.The parents of both the bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner held at Pymatuning Dam.
