Miss Janet Fleming of Kansas City spent the week-end here vis iting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Fleming, and had as her guests! while here Mr. and Mrs. John Gos sard, Miss Rity Edwards and Miss Ziegler, also of Kansas City. The visitors were entertained Saturday at a luncheon at the Merchants Hotel Coffee Shop by Mrs. Will Fleming and ours. T. 8. Fleming and the two also were hostesses last night at a family picnic at the Will Fleming home in Ur bandale, THEATER PARTY FOR GRANDSON On Saturday afternoon Mrs. W. ©. Smart entertained at a theater party for her grandson, Jimmy Smart. He and his guests attend ed the Grand Theater matinee and later were served ice cream in a drug store. Besides her grandson Mrs. Smart's guests were Kenneth Rainey, Glen Green, Dan Koester and Jerry Shepherd, To Visit Sons at Memphis Mrs. # C. Ross, 619 West Car penter street, left yesterday for Memphis, Tenn., where she will visit her two sons, Fred, who is employed by the DuPont Com pany there, and Charles, who is a life guard at a bathing beach near there..A third son, Frank,sta tioned at Norfolk, Va., with the U. S. Navy Air Corps, also will visit in Memphis with her. Married Here Saturday Donald Lee Thompson of Beardstown, Ti, and Miss Mary Naomi Smith ,of Monroe City Were married here Saturday af ternoon to Bruce McDonald, jus tice of the peace. The ceremony Was performed at 3 o'clock in Justice: McDonald's “office. ‘That couple will live in Beardstown, VISITORS FROM ALABAHA Mr. and Mrs. Yom Hardcastle and son, Edmund, of Birming ham, Ala., are visiting here in the home of Mr. Hardcastles sister, Miss Sue Hardcastle, 112 Eliza beth street, VISITORS FROM EL PASO. Mrs. Edwin W. Driskeil and two sons, Bill and Pat, of El Paso, will arrive in Moberly tomorrow for an extended visit with rela tives. Mr. Driskeil will join her here some time next month. VANSHINE GUESTS LEAVE Mrs. Norah. Hardister of Kan sas City and R. D. Vanshine of California, Mo., have returned to their homes after a visit here with their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. 5. P. Vanshike, Attend Boonville Funeral Mrs. A. J. Richey and daughter, Bette Anne, and Miss Martha Story went to Otterville Yesterday to attend the funeral ” services held for Mrs. Richey's uncle, Ed S. Shoemaker, who died Friday in a hospital in Boonville. THEFT IS REPORTED Miss Wanila Hartshorn, who lives in the Slobitt Apartments on Most Coates street, reported to Police yesterday that a clock and two navy pins were stolen from her room some time Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Carl May of Gro ver, Colo., visited here last week With relatives of Mrs. May, en route to Virginia to visit relatives|\ for Mr. May there.
