In an early morning ceremony at Las Vegas on Friday, July Fourth, Miss Eleanor Ruth Boyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Boyd of Jal, became the bride of Mr. Sam Salvo of Las Vegas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominis Salvo of Raton. The wedding was at 8:00 o’clock in the sanctuary of the Immacul ate Conception Church, with Fath er Paul Beattie reading the Nup tial High Mass services before an altar of daises and white gladiolas. Miss Vera Mae Sells of Farm ington, organist, accompanied Miss Ann Badgett, Lovington, who sang “Because” and “I Love You Truly.” Miss Dora Guadaganoli of Trin idad, Colorado was maid of honor, and Mr. John Salvo, Jr., of Santa Fe was best man. The bride’s ballerina-length wed ding gown was of white chantilly lace over satin, fashioned with a fitted bodice styled with sweet heart neckline and long pointed sleeves with tiny self-covered but tons. She wore a white chantilly veskit. Her finger-tipped bridal veil of net, trimmed with chan tilly lace, was caught by a small satin covered tiara embroidered with seed pearls, complimented with a pearl necklace. Her bou quet was an arrangement of white gardenias and stephanies. The maid of honor wore yellow Masquisette over startched linen, with a fitted bodice studded with rhinestones, and high neckline. Her floral headpiece and corsage were cornfower blue. For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Boyd chose a street length dress of ice pink nylon lace with white accessories, and a corsage of or chids. The bridegroom’s mother wore a dark green crepe dress with blue accessories and a cor sage of orchids. Immediately following the wed ding ceremony a reception was held in the banquet hall at the Castaneda Hotel. The serving ta ble was decorated with a huge floral centerpiece of pink and white asters arranged in fan shape. Miss Barbara Torres of Es panyola, and Miss Delores Salvo attend the serving of a three tier wedding cake topped with a min iature bride and bridegroom en circled with a floral design. Miss Martha Ann Boyd, sister of the bride, attended the guest registeration book. Following the reception the brid al party drove to Raton for a wedding dinner at the home of the bridegroom’s parents. The couple will make their home during the summer months at La Vegas where they both are en rolled at Highlands University. The bride is a senior, and the bride groom is doing graduate work. Mrs. Salvo was reared in Jal, and following her graduation from the local high school she entered Highlands University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority. Mr. Salvo was graduated from Dawson High School, and from Highlands University in 1952. He is a member of Kappa Sigma Kap pa Fraternity. He is a veteran of World War II, serving in the arm ed forces 19 months. In September they will move to Moriority, near Las Vegas, where they both have accepted employ ment with the Mojority school fac ulty.
