Rachel and Marvin wed in Sioux CenterMuider-Me^nderingRachel Ann Mulder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.' Harry Mulder of Maurice, and Marvin Dale Meendering. son of Mr. and Mrs. John Meendering of Hull, were united in marriage on Friday, June 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center.Rev. Jack O. Boerigter performed the double ring ceremony in the setting of unity candle and candelabras decorated with light, royal blue and white pom poms. ‘The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an A-line inc length gown of satin with a sheer organza overlay. The sheer yoke featured, a broqued lace neckline. The sheer fuJI sleeves were gathered at the cuffs with ruffles and broqued lace. The dress featured a chapel length attached train trimmed with a ruffle and lace. Her waist length veil was attached to a Juliet cap accented with little white bows and pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of white, light'blue and royal blue pom poms accented with royal blue babys breath. The bride wore a brooch given to her from her grandmother and she carried a tatted handkerchief made and given to her by the groom's grandmother.Personal attendant was Dot Nanninga, friend of the bride.Maid of honor was Debra Hey man. Bridesmaids were Nora Meendering and Marilyn Brummel, sisters of the bride and groom. Bridal escorts were S.tarla and Sandy Mulder, sisters of the bride.The bridesmaids wore floral light blue knit floor length gowns featuring short puffed sleeves with high colonial neckline. They carried colonial bouquets of white and blue pom poms. The escorts carried white baskets of pink, blue, white and yellow pom poms.Best man was Galen Grevengoed. Groomsmen were Daryl Meendering and Verlyn Mulder, brothers of the bride and groom. The ushers were Glen Hoekstra and Norwan Koel. The groom and groomsmen wore navy blue adventurer tuxedos with royal blue shirts with ruffles accented with a black trim. They also wore black velvet bow ties.Candlelighters were Nora Meendering and Harvey Mulder.Furnishing organ music was Pat Mol and a solo was performed by Jim Johnson accompanied by Dave Ritsema on electric guitar. Musical selections were, “Follow Me” sung before the bride entered, “Wedding Song” and “Wedding Prayer.” “True Love Comes From God” was ,sung as the couple lit (lie unity candle.The bride's mother chose a blue floral knit floor-length dress. The groom’s mother chose a blue knit floor-length dress accented with a blue lace jacket. They both wore corsages of white pom poms and blue babys breath.Starla and Sandy Mulder registered 200 guests at the reception which followed in the church basement. Punch was served, by Mr. apd Mrs. Daryl De Groot. Corsage attendant was Denise Heemstra.Host and Hostess at the reception were Mr. and Mrs, Stan Lammcrs. Coffee was served by Linda Donaldson and Janet Van Maanen. Carol Calsbeek and Linda Van De Brake cut tlie cake.Gifts were displayed by Katie De Kok, Deb Lacey, Evonne Taylor, Terri Busse and were registered by Deb Schut.Mr. and Mrs. Marvin MeenderingWaitresses were Eloise De Wit, Pam Bonnema, Pat Bowman, Sue Lensink and Donna Lammefs,After a wedding trip to the Black Hills, the couple will make their home at the Westside Trailer Court at Orange City. The groom is employed at Sioux Preme Pack and the - bride will be a junior at Northwestern college where she is also working this summer.Open house for Richard KoljdenhovensFriends and relatives are invited to a 40th anniversary open house for Mr. and Mrs. Richard Koldenhoven from Alden, la. formerly of this area, It will take place in the Hospers Christian Reformed Church parlors on Friday, July 11,7:00-9:00 p.m.It will be hosted by their children. The couple requests no gifts, please.
