Thomas R. Lewis, Bushnell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Lewis, Van Orin, took as his bride June 29, Miss Sherry Lee Baskett of Macomb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Baskett, Hamilton. Their vows were said at 7 p.m. in UnitedMethodist church in Hamilton, before the Rev. Donald Riley.Palms and bouquets of green, Spider mums, delphinium and blue baby’s breath were arranged with the candelabra for the candlelight wedding. Organist, Mrs. Vern Comstock, played Wagner’straditional Bridal Chorus from Lohrengrin for the processional, and for recessional, Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Kathy Shanklin, Bushnell, sang to her own guitar accompaniment, Time in a Bottle, There is Love and The Lord’s Prayer.Parents of the bride presented her at the altar. Her gown of ivory organza was designed with three-dimension Venise lace over taffeta, high scalloped neckline, appliqued bodice, double-tiered lace-edged capelet sleeves and appliqued skirt. Her flounced hemline extended into an attached chapel train, edged with Venise lace, and her cathedral, ivory veil was held by a Camelot cap adorned with applique and seed pearls. Her gold coin pendant was a gift from the bridegroom, and she carried a cascade of gardenias,. • -Ov-1. Both wore formal gowns of Sky blue, puckered material with matching headpieces. They carried hurricane lamps encircled with blue and green flowers and baby’s breath with Mint greenstreamers.Best man for Mr. Lewis was a brother, Lowell Lewis of Rockford. Groomsman was Phil Holmes, Beloit, Wis. Seating the guests were a brother-in-law of the bride, George Fanning, Moline, Bud Sutton, Chana, and Ken Bohm, LaMoille. Mint green shirts were worn by the bridegroom's attendants to complement the bride’s colors.Reception was in Fellowship hall of the church where 125 guests gathered and were registered by Jean Holmes. Assisting with details were Doris Palmer, Macomb, Peggy Grimsley, Mason City, Virginia Far-well, Macomb, Beatrice Wehrly, Macomb, SarahSmith, Mary Lewis and Marianne Clancy.Mr. and Mrs. Lewis will be at home after Aug. 1, following their wedding trip to the Northwestern states and Canada.Mrs. Lewis graduated from Hamilton high school and received her bachelor of science degree in speech pathology from Westernma gin irom me Dnaegroom,and she carried an Edwardian bouquet of red, Sweetheart roses, baby’s breath and ivy.Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. Linda St. Catherine. Bridesmaids were Misses Phyliss Man-snerus, Janice Moreland and Betty Roggy. Sandy Rahn, the flower girl carried a basket of dropped rose petals. Ring bearer was Jimmy Flaherty. Mrs. Florence Pecher, grandmother of the bridegroom, made the flower girl’s basket and the ring bearer’s pillow.Bridal attendants wore identical gowns of pink-striped sheer, styled with VIllinois university, Macomb. In June, 1974. she received her masters degree in guidance and counselingtrom W1VJ and will be employed as elementary guidance counselor for Mediapolis Community schools, Mediapolis, Iowa. She is a member of American Personnel and Guidance association, Illinois Personnel and Guidance association, Illinois Elementary School Counselors association, American School Counselors association.Mr. Lewis graduated from LaMoille high school and Illinois State university, Normal, with a bachelor of science degree in vocational agriculture. He has been employed as vocational agriculture teacher atBushnell-Prairie City,Illinois high school, and previously served two years in the Peace Corps to Peru -Central America and El Salvador. He is affiliated with Alpha Tau Alpha fraternity, Illinois Education association, National Education association, Future Farmers of America Alumni association.
